Spider-Woman #4covers

Mark Waid continues to deliver on Justice League Unlimited #4. The initial part of Tefe turning around the Amazon Rain Forest fires seemed a little too easy as there was absolutely no buildup. However, that was quickly rectified and things became much more interesting when she and Aquaman…

Pop Kill #1 is something I would not have normally picked up. The premise is that two Japanese cola companies—Popso and Fizz-One—are in a deadly competition for market share. The twist is that they are run by brothers.

Absolute Wonder Woman #5 wraps up the initial story arc in a major way. She now has a lasso, Sacrifice, in her arsenal, and it has an awesome power that must only be used as a last resort. Only managing to momentarily wound Tetracide, Diana decides to use Sacrifice. But she does it…

Is it wrong that Killerwat/Blue Bolt is becoming my favorite character in West Coast Avengers? He’s proving to be a three-dimensional character that is helping Firestar through a tough time. And she definitely needs it, and I don’t think Iron Man is the guy to help her. Blue Bolt could be the guy.

Calavera P.I. draws to a close with #4, and it was a terrific series. It managed to be both quiet and dramatic at the same time, somehow. In the waning hours of Dia de Los Muertos, Calavera must find a way to thwart La Fantasma’s plot to use Mikey to bring her own son from beyond the veil.
