First chapter of my book submitted! I expect strong suggestions and changes, but it feels amazing to break the ice with the editors and see the process going 😍

"If we were to live here, we would..." is a thought that me and my partner daily discuss. We play adults without committing to it, and our yet-to-be written immediate future is both a relieve and a nightmare. This book helped us to understand that we are by ourselves, but we are not alone.

¡Recibimos artículos con investigaciones originales! Animaos a mandar manuscritos 👇 www.tiemposmodernos.org/tm3/index.ph...

El martes presentamos, en @Museo_Naval esta preciosa investigación de varios años y muchos desafíos. Orgullosa de pertenecer a este equipo de trabajo, y agradecida por las reflexiones y el aprendizaje compartido. ¡Levamos anclas, rumbo a 1625!

Friends in #Paris Next week I will comment on this book written by a great friend. Come and enjoy our conversation with the authors of “Derroteros del Viaje al Estrecho de Magallanes (1557-1559)”, a GEOPAM network event.

Bye #Warsaw

A few hours ago, I landed in Warsaw – my first solo trip to an unknown country since 2019. It's such a powerful feeling to take this step on my own.

Just attended a seminar on writing projects for #HorizonEurope. The speaker noted that Humanities projects often struggle to get funding due to challenges in demonstrating impact on EU policies & citizens. Any ideas on how to navigate this, esp. for projects on 16-17th centuries? #EUfunding

After a slow start, I'm really enjoying being here! 🦋 Excited to reconnect with familiar faces and eager to meet new ones!

In less than a month, I’ll be presenting at the V International Congress of Indigenous Worlds (#COIMI) in Warsaw! Excited to join scholars and community voices in exploring Indigenous perspectives and pressing issues. Mark your calendars for Nov. 21-22, 2024! 🌍 #IndigenousWorlds

Last week I went into dissemination of my past and current research on Brazil and the Dutch. Images from the filming process of a documentary, which will be released on TV and theaters sometime in 2025.

¡charro!

Happy to share that I joined @Madrid_IAS as a “Marcel Bataillon” Fellow yesterday. Delighted for this opportunity and eager to start a new project afresh. Greet Mr. Velázquez! 🐱

Proud to see (my) Brazil as a case study in such an international volume. It will be released soon... when the editor gives the go-ahead to the corrections!

Since always, new year -and thus its resolutions- starts in Sep/Oct for me. Can't complain about 2022/3, but 2023/4 is going to be a blast.

We've already received some excellent applications. This will be a great cohort, and you could be one of them! Applications open until October 1st, more info at emdigit.org/2023/call-fo... #earlymodern 🗃️

The programme for 'America is the Centre. Visual Circulations in the Iberian World' conference has landed. Coordinated: Pablo Amador& Paula Mues for CIRIMA and the IIEs-UNAM, 16-20 Oct; Mexico City-Puebla; broadcasted on #YouTube register: [email protected] Please share widely!

I'm having a hard time getting my groove back, with so many decisions and life changes coming up. I rely on this new book of my admired Manuel Rivero for a few hours of abstraction and focus training before returning to the office.

Launched last June, our book "Salvador de Bahia 1625" will be on the agenda for discussion next Wednesday, September 20th, at Fundación Carlos de Amberes in Madrid. Pass by if you are around! www.fcamberes.org/es/tertulia-...

My offline-mode is over. Time to catch up here 🙋‍♀️
