Except with the likes of Trump, Putin, and Netanyahu, it is incumbent on us to fight back, because people get hurt. And never forget him flipping tables in the temple. Sometimes kindness is hard: e.g., fraternal correction, letting people face consequences, allowing children to fall & get back up.

My experience dovetails with that of Jayne Manfredi's here - an excerpt (via Church Times) from her book 'Waking the Women'.

Global crisis style note: What Trump is doing to Ukraine is not 'blackmail', which would be demand for payment under threat of exposure of compromising information*. This is demand for payment under threat of violence/refusal to protect from violence. The word is 'extortion'.

Well, then, someone else needs to step in.

Palestinian kids are portrayed by Israeli and western media as ‘inherently dangerous and denied the status of “child”.’ Important article by Dr Yara Hawari @yarahawari.bsky.social Especially following attempts to ban this week’s BBC film Gaza: How to survive a war zone. A child’s perspective.

'Gaza: How To Survive A War Zone' which was on the BBC’s iPlayer streaming service centres on the struggles of 13-year-old Abdullah, living under Israel’s brutal offensive in the Palestinian territory. This piece comes with link to the film. www.newarab.com/news/bbc-pul...

"a white man who literally lacks the command qualifications for the job" = evidence that Dan Caine will not be an effective chairman. So I really am hoping this is sarcasm.

Gotta love how everyone clutching their pearls over the fact that the narrator of #GazaHowToSurviveAWarZone is the son of an official in the Ministry of Agriculture completely missed the fact that H*m*s was cursed by a number of Palestinians in the programme. This isn't about who the narrator 1/

Well, that's going to be a bit of a rum mystery! I'll see myself out. #DeathInParadise

The Columbus Jewish community should be absolutely *ashamed* of this - claiming Jewish institutions don't need to respect workers rights is pretty much the definition of a shanda fur die goyim

We have a tendency to define mourning as something you have to do “first” and then resist. I say our mourning *is* resistance - its as if we have completely forgotten how to mourn loudly and collectively

60th anniversary of the assassination of Malcolm X, one of those murders, alongside those of RFK, MLK, and Dag Hammarskjold that almost ensured this hellscape timeline would be the one we lived. Rest in power. archive.ph/cdzXW

Sweet Baby Jesus, Why did you take our brains from us? Was it the Trump bibles? Was it worshiping a golden oaf? How can we make amends?

How very imperialist, classist, and paternalistic of him to assume white working class men are all Reform voting racists. Stop projecting your racism on everyone else, Keir.

Legalising assisted dying in England and Wales ‘may hamper suicide prevention work’

Family Hubs make a real difference to the lives of new parents. That's why the Government is providing £126 million in new funding for Family Hubs and Start for Life services.

When we tell you blind hatred towards others always comes for you in the end, believe us.

Will never get over how the US Senate is like a college student with ADHD, constantly cramming in overnight sessions and never learning its lesson.

Watching #GazaHowToSurviveAWarZone & I don't think I've ever felt rage quite this deep. The ghouls tried to take it down claiming the narrator's father works for the Ministry of Agriculture, crying H*m*s! The truth is, you want it taken down b/c running film isn't going to lie about just how 1/

Jared is spot on here, and interestingly, this opinion piece from the Guardian dovetails well with this. It has never been clearer to me that many, many liberals aren't liberal on principle/moral compass, but on selfishness. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

That's the way you do it.

As one of the first MPs to urge the last government to open safe routes for Ukrainian refugees, I believe the least our government can do is the same for Palestinians. At the same time we should end arms sales, implement sanctions and hold the Israeli government to account.

I see the p*rn bots who follow you at the drop of a hat have made it over to Bluesky.
