1/ Our Manuscript of the Week is Liber Flavus Fergusiorum (RIA MS 23 O 48). This 15th C compilation of texts includes the Tale of Fortinbras: an Irish retelling of a French song in which a Saracen giant chooses to become a Christian knight in the service of Charlemagne.

Applications are particularly encouraged for research projects which set out to explore health challenges arising at the intersection of mental health & health inequalities, & aim to develop new and experimental approaches to tackling these health challenges…

The IHA Medical & Health Humanities Working Group have compiled an impressive Research Snapshot from across the island of Ireland. This report, launched on 27 Nov at the @ria.ie, includes an overview of research in this area from 138 colleagues in Ireland. www.irishhumanities.com/assets/Uploa...

This was really good. I talked about Will Viney's work on projectification and precarity and who/what the 'success' of the medical humanities is for in a time of crisis for our disciplines more generally.

Enjoyed hearing from the editors of ‘Exciting News’ at this IHA showcase event, and sharing about my chapter in the volume. It was also interesting to listen to a panel about developments in the Medical Humanities in Ireland featuring @desfitzgerald.bsky.social. brill.com/edcollbook/t...

Delighted to share our Irish Humanities Alliance Research and Innovation Showcase will take place tomorrow 27 Nov at the Royal Irish Academy. Attendance is free but booking is essential at the link below. www.irishhumanities.com/events/arts-...
