This video from @translink.bsky.social does an excellent job at explaining how dedicated bus lanes work. We often hear people complain about how the bus lanes are empty. That's a lack of understanding the space efficiency of transit. youtu.be/r9gjML9d7kk?...

Some news! 🗞️ I'm very excited to announce that I will be attending @rutgersuniversity.bsky.social Bloustein School to become an urban planner starting in January 2025! 🌇 Here's how I got here: 🧵

Cities only take up a tiny amount of land: only about 1 percent of the world’s land area is cities. ourworldindata.org/urbanization

I got an A on my urban studies paper 😍🥲

Hi. I'm Andrew. I own New England's oldest map store because last year I moved across the country after an old guy retired and gave it to me Willy Wonka-style. Visit my store in Rhode Island. www.mapcenter.com

Farewell New York 😢 www.nytimes.com/2024/12/12/n...

WOW very cool!

Big news that I’m posting here 🦋 first: I’m thrilled to announce my candidacy to be the next Comptroller of NYC. I will use the powers of the office to address our city’s historic crisis of affordability and livability, and to restore broken confidence in government. Join us! votemarklevine.com

I like this analogy

City of Yes just passed the NYC City Council with a vote of 31-20. 🗽 Here is a map of that vote per council district. "This Council cannot be the body that says 'No' to people who need a place to live."--Speaker Adams Interactive map: www.datawrapper.de/_/Ksle3/

Legendary

I'm thankful for all the cool people all over the world working to build better cities. 👍🦃

Post you hottest #urbanist take 😅

“War on cars” is such a ridiculous notion.

Excited to see this happen! Tosay I was on the bus and it had to nav gridlock on Columbus Ave. Couldn’t come soon enough. gothamist.com/news/feds-si...

GREAT NEWS!

NYC’s zoning change moves ahead; Version that passed committee appears to be about 80% of what was originally planned in terms of new housing capacity bsky.app/profile/nick...

It’s a deep dive 🤓🤿

Advocating for strong public schools needs to be a central part of any urbanist agenda. It’s one of the few urban civic institutions remaining which regularly brings people together to create community. And you can’t truly advocate for public schools if you don’t send your own kids there.

Love > Fear <3

Smart idea. Hope to see this implemented! nyc.streetsblog.org/2024/11/20/c...
