an absolute sucker for a cotton candy sky

After a week of being completely stalled on my current project I’ve found my groove again writing passages by hand ~ Possibly because my atrocious handwriting means if it’s bad writing, nobody can tell…

'Beauty often, maybe almost always, makes me uneasy; much of the art I find most beautiful feels possessed of a supreme indifference to my response'

Would love to make some writing pals on here! I'm currently drafting a novel with the working title 'Thin Fire' #writingcommunity #writing I've written 2700 words of it today, and this is my favourite sentence from that chunk of the draft. (Mostly ugly but I think this is nice)

Sunday night ✨ A new book, messy journaling about the last one, and planning the week ahead. #Books #BookSky 💙📚

PSA for newbies: Please include ALT text on your images. This is an inclusive space for blind and visually impaired people. Don't arrive late to the party and ignore a bunch of people. Also, please share this skeet, rather than liking it, to ensure the message gets delivered. Thanks!

My overly ambitious end-of-the-year TBR. Some comforting rereads, some newish releases, and a few books I've wanted to get to for years. What do others want to get to before we hit 2025? #BookSky #BookChallenge #Books 💙📚

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky

Something I’m enjoying so far here is how alt text is being used. Descriptions of images of course but I’ve seen people add context or little funny asides alongside it. Hopefully means people are incentivised to use alt text at all, but also that people who rely on it can be in on the jokes etc.

This is still my advice: Become a writer anyway. Fuck it, do it, it won't save you, but it's still a beautiful dream to write novels and short stories and poems and mingle with other dreamers and make art and laugh in the face of death. And writing is constant death. Live más.

Book One: Affinity by Sarah Waters 🖤 The most perfect novel for wintery nights. Slowly building tension and ever-tightening emotional threads and I had to start reading with my hand over the other page so my eyes wouldn’t dart across as it built to its breathless conclusion. #booksky 💙📚

Good morning new platform #booksky #books #writing
