The more I think about last nights Doctor Who, the more upset I get. Not so much because it was bad episode, but because Ncuti Gatwa deserved better. He was a stellar representation of the black and queer communities, and he was fucked over. He deserved better.

After sleeping on it, I don’t think The Reality War was a good episode. There were some highlights, but it carried many of the same critical flaws as Empire of Death, with similarly poor payoffs and pacing, exacerbated by the fact that it bookends Ncuti’s (presumably shortened) tenure.

Doctor Who today…kind of just didn’t click with me? EV in space is a cool premise but the episode just felt kind of messy and I was struggling a bit to stay attentive. I did really like the campiness though and Ncuti’s outfit was actually one of my favourites of the era.
