We tried, it was called the Amico.

Calling it now. This generation will be the death of physical video game releases. They're gonna try and make this as appealing to publishers to all heck just to save a dime, but still sell games at full price. If the digital game is pulled, this just becomes plastic waste.

Think I’m finally done with day 1 purchases for video games. That price tag is really doing it in. I don’t think $15 or $20 has any added value from the base $60 price. I’ve skipped PS5 games just because $70 is already a lot. How’d we get here?

Uh oh. Looks like major Switch 2 releases are going to be $80 now. Worst thing is, they’ll definitely get away with it. I think it’s time to bring back rental stores before they kill physical games next.

Switch 2 direct personal takeaways: *Performance boost and 4K confirmed (YES) *Voice chat and camera, it's what Wii U Chat wished it was *I'm seriously more hyped for MK World than I was with MK8 when it was first launched *KIRBY AIR RIDE IS BACK! *DK Bananza is straight-up Odyssey 2 minus cappy

Be Amazon: •create one of the first consumer voice assistant smart speakers •innovate new versions, spread to other platforms •force users to have their voice recordings uploaded even if they don’t want it for AI purposes Unplugged. Goodbye Alexa.

All the ways the Zelda movie would be announced (release date that is), wasn’t expecting it to be from the Nintendo Today app.

Man. Mumei was the one that hooked me into the Hololive rabbit hole, and has always been one of my favorites. It’s a sad night.

...but why? What reason could there possibly be to hold back tracks? If this is going to be a pattern for other releases, that's already a bad look for this music service then.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but heck: NOT EVERY MOVIE NEEDS A SEQUEL.

April 2nd can't come fast enough. Really hoping for a new Kirby game since it's been a while since Forgotten Land (heck, I'll even take another 2D game like the rumored Planet Robobot remake).

8 years of Nintendo Switch. Though Switch 2 is releasing later this year, the fact the system continues on is a serious achievement, especially compared to its predecessor. It's time for stronger hardware, but one thing is absolute: this thing gave some of the best experiences in video games.

Seeing the Sonic Unleashed PC decomp, but not owning the Xbox 360 version since I grew up with the Wii version. Missing out for real.

Monster Hunter Wilds, which version is worth getting? PC or PS5? Was thinking PC, but hearing lot of optimization issues from the Steam reviews.

Finally got a Flippydrive. The versatility it keeps for not having to take away the disc drive, and especially the UI, is incredible. Not only great for digital backups, but makes modding a lot more accessible. This thing’s a must-have for any GameCube owner.

If other SEGA properties are finally getting sequels/reboots, can we at least get a remake for Ristar already? Moreso the Alex Kidd treatment with that remake. 30 years of a unique platformer and the best we got is a cameo in a racing game.

Even physical games are bricked without PSN access if you need to pair a disc drive. This is why real physical media and disc drive access is vital. Welcome to the future - nobody owns anything, and all art and entertainment is disposable, temporary, and lost forever.

I’m more amused not that the PlayStation network has been down for hours, record breaking even, but there’s been nothing from Sony as to WHY the servers are down. Sorry to those that have PS+ subscriptions or those online only games.

After trying to learn Unity and Blender for two months, here's what I got to show for it: Project Museum. A virtual reality attempt to remake an old PlayStation game. youtu.be/1-7_1Yr1P2s?... #videogames #arcade #unity #virtualreality

$70 is already a bold asking price, but for $100, I’m done. I’d hope the industry crashes considering the plethora of other current issues still not being addressed by game companies. How is the extra $30 even justified at that point?

Play-Asia added what appears to be (an official release) of Super Mario World for vinyl. If we don't count the movie's vinyl release, or some promo 7" released around 2014, this may very well be the first legitimate Super Mario Bros soundtrack released on vinyl... but DAMN THAT IMPORT PRICE HURTS.

With Switch 2 being “mostly compatible” with Switch games, which is already great, please let that mean stuff like Labo and not any major games. Also though, is the IR sensor still on the right Joy-Con? Rip otherwise.

If rumors hold, Switch 2’s announcement may be tomorrow. Final hopes/predictions, let the performance at least hold 4K60fps, PS4 Pro levels would be great. Allow suspending two apps, or integrate a proper web browser as a side-bar. Last, just make voice chat in the system, not a mobile app.

Unity update, this one from a poorly shot video from the VR headset's left eye. The project now has a fully-working artifact viewing system, and I've opted a more hands-on approach to the game's "Zoom Mode" (and fully yeetable).

Another Blender and Unity project update. Biggest struggle so far would be working with lighting, especially in regards to some horizontal streaks on the walls. Good news though is that this area's almost done!

Been trying to learn Blender and Unity again the past week. Rough in some spots still, but think I'm finally making some real progress compared to last time. I'll share more if I can keep making some meaningful progress. Here's a WIP screenshot.

Merry Christmas folks! Finally getting around to some of the back catalog of games to catch up on. What games did everyone else get today?

Talk about a fall from grace. Some of the best platformers in Origins and Legends, a nice cameo DLC in Sparks of Hope, and turned into an NFT/crypto sellout. You can say it for any other series, but Rayman's the one that needs to be sold to another company the most right now.

Switch year in review. Actually on the light side compared to prior years. TTYD was certainly the highlight, and Echoes of Wisdom was also good. Thought about picking up Jamboree, but never really got around to it. All in all still one good last year before it's Switch 2 time.

Genuine question, why is it almost every release from Cartoon Network is always DVD? Why is it so difficult to release these things on Blu-Ray? It’s nearly 2025 already!

#AstroBot wins Game of the Year at #TheGameAwards

This year’s Game Awards was actually pretty good. Awards didn’t seem dominated or snubbed, no real show issues (“wrap it up”), and some really good reveals. Congrats to all the winners.

Sonic Racing sequel announced. Wonder if it’ll keep the team mechanics or lean more into the SEGA All-Stars formula. If it improves on the TSR, then I don’t mind. Getting Zero Gravity vibes by the naming here, but that’s just me.

We’re getting a Pac-Man game inspired by Secret Level. Man I just wanted a Pac-Man World 2 remake. Was that too much to ask?

Tomorrow's the last chance to pick up SEGA Genesis Classics on Steam and consoles. Steam's release includes rom files that do work with emulators, including through RetroArch. Get 'em while you can, cause I don't think SEGA's gonna do this again.

30 years of PlayStation! Started with the PS2 (and some PS1 games), picked it up again with the PS4 Pro, and now playing with the PS5. Congrats on the milestone Sony!

I don't usually post about vtuber stuff, but I always quite enjoyed watching Ceres Fauna with the weekly Minecraft streams. This one just hurts, more than expected.
