Caught the third and final party popper thrown by @johnshuttleworth.bsky.social at tonight's Lowry show. It's certain to become a much sought after and valuable item of memorabilia. I might sell it on eBay. But how to prove its authenticity? Oof!

Half-decent seats for John Shuttleworth. All set for an evening of air-punching.

Yes, Dawid. What England really need right now is a batsman who'll take 25 overs playing himself in, thus putting further pressure on the more talented players at the other end, who then take unnecessary risks, and inevitably throw their wickets away #AUSvENG

Sunday: John Shuttleworth (The Lowry) Monday: The Futureheads (New Century Hall) Tuesday: Ash Sarkar in conversation, hosted by Josie Long (Academy 2) A unique hat-trick, I reckon. Apart from Mrs T, no one else will be going to all three!

Feel certain that tonight's newly-branded Late Show with @mickeyundertone.bsky.social will open with a Jam nuggett in tribute to Rick, but which one? Could be any one of literally dozens, but I've got a tenner at 6/1 on the mighty 'When You're Young', with its 'any guitar and any bass drum'.

Had zero expectation this evening, but watching our 'engine room' of Gundogan and Bernardo trundling around chasing shadows, is genuinely painful viewing.

I'm begging someone to ask Badenoch about this. I suspect her desperation to stay aligned with the far-right Maga types might genuinely lead to her agreeing that she's not truly British.

"Amorim gone yet, Fawlty?"

I love Paul Morley's 'City of Lost Souls' piece from 1998, on the difference between supporting City and United. It was just perfect for the time. But is there a point where we actually start to feel sorry for them?

Some fantastic individual performances today, but the single biggest reason for us looking like the City of old was surely the appearance of a bona fide defensive midfielder. Not sure why we hadn't thought of this earlier.

After a full day recovering in bed, note to self is too many of these is not as good an idea as it seems at the time. #TheMagnet

Frank Hayes - a glorious strokemaker whose cavalier style would've been perfect for 'Bazball'.

Feels horrible and wrong wanting Liverpool to beat Everton in the Merseyside derby. But that's what the loathsome, conspiracy theory-touting, deranged fanbase of Arsenal Football Club has reduced us to.

It isn't easy in the paranoid Labour party at the moment to put your head above the parapet and call out the bullshit. Respect to Stella Creasy for standing up to this. Denying refugees a pathway to citizenship is anti-integration nonsense and it reeks of desperation.

It's been painfully obvious all season that KDB, Bernardo & Gundogan are no longer up to it. Brushed aside by younger, quicker & stronger players on a weekly basis. And Kovacic is not the required level. In the words of Edwyn, Pep needs to rip it up and start again. That or let someone else do it.

Just heard Stuart Pearce offering tactical advice to Pep Guardiola ahead of tonight's match. He probably gets paid as well.

As a HMHB fan, I'm naturally wary of this invitation.

Trouble Over Bridgwater (2000) Cammell Laird Social Club (2002) Achtung Bono (2005) CSI:Ambleside (2008)

Gig tickets for 2026 already, crikey! This one will bring a premature end to many a dry January #HMHB
