Though a US holiday, each Memorial Day, I pay tribute to my grandfather, Lt. Ants Hennupere, captured and imprisoned by the USSR while defending the sovereign nation of Estonia. If not for his sacrifice, my grandmother would not have fled with her two young daughters to seek refuge in the USA.

7 weeks from today, we move 5 miles further into town - back into Tucson city limits and out of windy Rincon Valley. It's less than 200 more square feet, but way bigger feeling - probably because the living room is 2-stories high. Also, only a 3 minute drive to mom's!

We never heard of peanut or gluten allergies when I was a kid. Not that they didn't exist, but I'm convinced that when I was in kindergarten, they gave us all PB&J sandwiches and had us nap on our little rugs so they could thin the herd. (1/2)
