Elon’s razor: The stupidest explanation for his actions is probably the correct one

I'm old enough to remember when the left said "Okay we will shelve nuclear disarmament, abolishing the monarchy, Keynesian economics and basic internationalism in order to work with the centre" and the centre had a five year tantrum because they weren't in charge for a bit.

I personally think if you were opposed to the most pro-immigration leader of a major party in recent history you have no business representing the pro-immigration argument. Setting aside how fucking stupid and pointless “debate” is for either knowledge production or advancing the cause.

Scapegoating refugees has always been a deliberate ploy by governments to distract from their own domestic failures. Pandering to Reform UK will backfire — and vulnerable people will pay the price. End dangerous crossings by opening safe routes for fellow human beings instead.

I've built a machine that can be Confidently Wrong. It can also make pictures that all look a bit the same, as well as make a video of you kissing any celebrity or person you know. In payment, I'd like to boil the world's oceans dry, & steal all literature. For some reason, my head is not on a spike

Thought for the day.

We are appalled by the Foreign Secretary’s failure to condemn President Trump’s call for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. A statement from the Independent Alliance.

After chasing away the left, accepting billionaire donations and refusing to tackle wealth inequality, Starmer's government is now losing to Reform. It's almost like offering nothing but soundbites on 'growth' is far less effective than actually taxing the rich and investing in public services.

You can take the boy out of apartheid but can you take apartheid out of the boy?

The death toll in Gaza has already been updated to 61,709. The true scale of Israel's atrocities is only just emerging - and officials must face justice for every single life lost. So should those who continued to send weapons, knowing full well they were enabling genocide.

Thank you to Islington Tribune for publishing my farewell to El Gato. Rest in peace El Gato, you made our house a home and made many people very happy. www.islingtontribune.co.uk/article/fare...

I've joined the APPG for the Night Time Economy, which recognises nightlife's cultural and economic importance as a cross-party voice for businesses, supply chains, and patrons. If there's anything Night Time Economy-related you think I may be able to help with—email [email protected].

Horror after horror coming out of the US today and all that is on it's way here after the next election, unless we build an alternative that offers real change. join.greenparty.org.uk

i think every anti-WFH argument i’ve ever seen invokes “isolation” as a reason commuting into offices is apparently vital but a societal push to reducing work hours and promoting engagement with local community activities instead never seems to be suggested, i wonder why that is

That’s, that’s the joke! That’s the thing the joke is abo-, for fucks sake that’s the thing the joke is getting at it’s not supposed to-

Joe Biden and Antony Blinken both belong in The Hague.

Woke up to the news that the new plan for growth is to "unleash AI" which sums up this government. Shit idea, that no one wants, being imposed by people everyone hates, which will make everyone's life worse.

I am very excited to see who Starmer replaces Rachel Reeves with because the issue isn't the personnel it's that they've imposed this level of weakness to market conditions on themselves and any moves to fortify us against that would mean conceding their most hated enemy was right.

Did you vote Labour in 2024? Is this what you voted for?

57 companies are responsible for 80% of global greenhouse gas emissions since 2016. These companies include fossil fuel giants like Chevron, Shell, and BP, who have been raking in record profits. The profits of Big Oil should not be more important than the future of our planet.

And it’s Friday! But anyway, it’s always cause for jubilation when Salt and Vinegar Potatoes are #RecipeOfTheDay! www.nigella.com/recipes/salt...

“Will pay any amount.” Feels like one of those futile pleas we’re going to hear from wealthy people more and more in the era of climate change.

Keir Starmer has no register with which to respond to Elon Musk because he’s spent years sucking up to the “billionaire class”. He could instead have reframed public demands for sovereignty and more control over our lives as being a symptom of economic failure, unaccountable power and inequality

The world’s richest man & insecure nepo-baby shouldn’t be allowed to dictate UK politics. Yet some politicians act like sycophants & his unhinged outbursts dominate news, while our democracy is serially undermined. We must break the super-rich’s grip on our media & politics.

I know people will say "no it's sensible" but I just feel there is no justification for Wes Streeting saying he "will work with Elon Musk". I don't think it's sensible, I think it's dangerous, both for Labour and for fucking all of us.

BREAKING: After winning an election by promising growth, the prime minister is now asking regulators for advice on how to achieve growth because he has no fucking clue how to do it x

"If we fail to deliver real solutions – not just in rhetoric but through policies that improve people’s lives – more demagogues will rise." My article today on a Universal Basic Income in the @bigissue.com : 👇🏼 www.bigissue.com/opinion/univ...

We filmed a Royal Air Force plane conducting surveillance of Gaza taking off from its base on Cyprus. 👉Keir Starmer's Gaza spy plane caught on camera www.declassifieduk.org/keir-starmer...

“Costco is battling an anti-DEI wave with a stern rebuke to activist shareholders looking to end the warehouse retailer’s diversity ambitions. “Walmart, John Deere, Tractor Supply and other companies are changing or walking away from diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies.[…]”

Should billionaires and corporations be banned from buying political parties in the UK? Like if yes. RP if it's HELL YES.

Nature is being terminated by humans International agricultural trade has caused 90 percent biodiversity loss three times higher than previously thought. www.techexplorist.com/internationa...

Over in the other place, the billionaire owner is threatening to fund ‘moderate’ (rightwing) candidates in heavily Democratic districts too. This is what oligarchy looks like. It’s the biggest threat to democracy today. Not ‘cancel culture.’ Not trans kids. Not college protesters. Oligarchy.

Yesterday Israel bombed Gaza city, Jabalia, Rafah and al Nuseirat, killing at least 40 Palestinians. Among the targets were two shelters for displaced families.

HI I DON'T WANT BLACKROCK INVOLVED IN THE RUNNING OF MY COUNTRY THANK YOU SO MUCH FUCKING HELL

Wes Streetings decision to ban puberty blockers should be called out for what it is. He's playing culture wars where trans & non binary youth are collateral damage & Labour dance to Reforms tune. An attack on trans people is an attack on our LGBTQ+ community. We must say no.

When I left X, I left 260000ish followers who cared about the NHS. This is bad because the NHS is in a state of emergency and EveryDoctor has just launched an important petition. If you can see this, please could you follow me and share this? 🤞💙🚨

My friend got mugged in London last night by a gang. First question: “Are you a boy or girl?” He’s not trans. He’s a gay guy, with shoulder length hair. Not cut in a feminine style - just shoulder length hair. Punched and kicked to ground. Beaten. Took his phone, laptop and watch. #LGBT 🌈🏳️‍⚧️

If that disgusting racist and grifting liar Nigel Farage shouldn't have been on Question Time even once, nevermind 38 times. Give this a Like, or better yet a RP.
