With that state of play, it seems like Sony is making an effort to invest in high-spectacle action games. While over saturation of any genre can lead to audience burnout, I think this is ultimately a good idea. It’s an underserved niche that has the potential to really show off the hardware.

Man… I regret to report that NG2 Black kinda sucks. Not only does it lack the content from the original release, but it makes the game much easier. I should not have breezed through Master Ninja as easily as I did. I’d recommend Sigma 2 over this.

Idk about that Ninja Gaiden 4 trailer. Platinum’s output hasn’t been great recently, and I’m not sure if they’ll be able to capture the nuances of NG’s gameplay. Also, the Izuna Drop looks weirdly janky.

I regret to report that First Berserker Khazan sucks. It plays like a pastiche of a bunch of random popular combat mechanics slapped into one package, only to end up having no more depth than something like your standard Dark Souls combat.

Just saw the ending of Suicide Squad: KTJL. I don’t think we should let Rocksteady off the hook for this. Live service is a scam and developers aren’t stupid. Rocksteady knowingly took their fans for a ride. I think we should regard them the same way one regards a used car salesman.

Played the demo for Lies of P. It was decent, but I’m getting really annoyed with melee action games where spacing basically doesn’t matter at all. You can literally just stand in one place and parry all the bosses’ attacks and you never have to move.

Finally got around to playing Shadow Generations. I think I like it more than Sonic Generations. More than a great sequel, it’s just a great platformer. I like the emphasis on air movement and skips. There’s genuine depth to the movement, and it’s utilized pretty well.
