EXCLUSIVE: CA National Guard troops sent by Trump to LA amid immigration protests are sleeping on concrete floors. No fed funding for food, water, fuel, equipment or lodging. Source: “Currently, there is no plan for where everyone is sleeping tonight” www.sfchronicle.com/california/a...

Two protests against President Donald Trump’s immigration arrests were scheduled in San Francisco on Monday, a day after clashes between police and demonstrators resulted in 60 arrests.

hi earthquake!!

Had a lot of fun covering BottleRock yesterday for @sfchronicle.com. Being that close to Green Day was definitely a career highlight! bit.ly/3ZA1ndl

San Francisco is best viewed from the water, specifically while riding a paddle board. And photographing from a kayak isn't for the faint of heart. A very nice Monday with @peterhartlaub.bsky.social for @sfchronicle.com 🚣 bit.ly/4ji3sBN

1,000 seals can't be wrong. This Dogpatch small business just moved into a World War II-era warehouse, and offers the most mystical tours of the bay. Another #TotalSF adventure with @jachristian.bsky.social, whose photos are soooo excellent here. 🌁 ❤️ www.sfchronicle.com/totalsf/arti...

Had a very fun morning at the office with @jachristian.bsky.social!! Crane Cove Park rules. Dogpatch Paddle rules. Running into random seals & heron rules. #TotalSF 🌁 ❤️

My Romanesco finally arrived!

Worshippers gathered at San Francisco's Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption this afternoon to pray and celebrate the news that Cardinal Robert Prevost of the United States has been named as Pope Leo XIV. More on @sfchronicle.com bit.ly/4d92N3X

I’ve been out of town a lot but here’s a garden update 🌱 The cabbage is massive and peas finally have their flowers. My leafy greens are going wild, I haven’t picked them because of the spider living in the leaves. It’s almost time to harvest the garlic. My blackberry is finally climbing the wall.

Benji always finds his light.

This week is the 7 year anniversary of #TotalMuni2018 — where @heatherknightsf.bsky.social and I rode every Muni line in one day! Changed my viewpoint of the city & transit forever. Grateful to Heather, @jachristian.bsky.social and the Chronicle team & all the friends we made along the way. 🚍 🌁 ❤️

More morning garden art 🌼

There’s a very sweet Johnson jumping spider living in my lettuce who I’m trying to befriend. It watches me while I read in the garden and is just the most curious little thing ❤️

Things in the garden this morning that felt like art.

I put together this fun video of @peterhartlaub.bsky.social exploring Sunset Dunes, San Francisco's newest park on the former Great Highway. Come for his impressive piano recital, stay for the laughs @sfchronicle.com youtu.be/U9OfHCSa_wI?...

Pianos, horses, murals and so much more 🐙 I had a lovely time wandering around Sunset Dunes, San Francisco's newest park along the Great Highway. It officially opens April 12, so check out @peterhartlaub.bsky.social's guide before you go! bit.ly/4lK0c4L @sfchronicle.com

The new Great Highway park is a contentious flashpoint of an open space. But when you actually arrive the vibes are immaculate. 10 ways to explore Sunset Dunes, San Francisco’s newest park. My fun guide with @jachristian.bsky.social! 🌁☀️❤️ Gift link!! 🎁 www.sfchronicle.com/projects/202...

There's a young Minke whale beached in Emeryville right now. Marine Mammal Center says they've been watching its strange behavior for 5 days, but today's beaching is a very dire situation. This is only the fifth confirmed sighting of a Minke whale in the bay since 2009 @sfchronicle.com

Get outside, everything’s blooming 🪻

Saturday garden update: the strawberries are finally popping, scotch bonnet pepper plant has new leaves, the peas are finally stretching to the trellis and this single buried tomato has about 30 little sprouts growing out of them. We’ll see what this next week of warm weather brings! 🌱

I made this piece on the Velalla velalla for @sfchronicle.com’s Instagram if you’re into that sort of thing 🪼

Came across Oakland Chinatown royalty this afternoon.

If you've been to the beach recently, you've probably noticed a thick blankets of jellyfish-like creatures coating the shore. They show up in spring, but La Niña and colder-than-average ocean temperatures are expected to bring many more to beaches in the coming weeks @sfchronicle.com bit.ly/4i5T1Rb

The “world’s most beautiful Taco Bell” has reopened after a remodel. Folks can now enjoy ocean views from the comfort of a bar while sipping Baja Blast margaritas. I remember coming here in college when it was empty, now you’re lucky if the line isn’t out the door 🌮🏄‍♀️ @sfchronicle.com bit.ly/4cAEWdz

I had fun working with a disposable camera for my contribution to @sfchronicle.com's famed Top 100 list. I've loved scrolling through the project and seeing how everyone else approached it. Stay tuned next week for the top 50! 🧑‍🍳 bit.ly/4hXmCfx

My ginkgo tree and blackberry bush are blooming aka we are so back 🌸
