Just another reminder: please don't use news like this as a way to console war. It has and will happen to your favorite company, too. Layoffs in any industry are really sad for the people involved. For better or worse, they are a way of life for public (and many private) companies.

I’ve always been an open-source advocate - type of nerd that ran a Linux User Group To me, the biggest “sin” in tech is restrictively conjoining software & hardware It’s why I've never liked Apple & why Nintendo/Sony practices in #gaming frustrate me - games shouldn't be locked to one plastic box!

Google Stadia had a great community. I met so many new friends who helped me through the pandemic and got me back into #gaming. After the showcase watch party, the fanfest organizers held a community session. Person after person described how the Xbox community had affected their life. ❤️ community.

Definitely picking this up to try. Portable gaming wise, I so far prefer my phone + backbone + cloud gaming more than another device that I have to keep charged. I've rejected the G Cloud, Steam Deck and Portal. This device does so much, though!

Xbox Play Anywhere (including PC and cloud) is such a great consumer friendly move. While some companies (we won't name names) are fixated on fighting last decade's console war and locking people into specific plastic devices they control - Xbox is delivering more and more ways to play.
