As a self-described germaphobe, you'd think that Trump would be more into preventative medicine and keeping track of outbreaks around the world. Maybe he thinks he can just close up the US should there be an outbreak of something dire, but we've already seen that doesn't work.

When I was in college, we had an unseasonably warm day in February so being a college student I decided to wear shorts to say I had worn shorts in Feb. Even went to the bank in shorts. I mention this because I still remember the day I wore shorts in February after I've forgotten a lot about college.

$5 million is way too low for a Golden Green Card. Maybe the plan is to increase the price as more services are offered. Go up to a Platinum Green Card or a Titanium Green Card. (Is Titanium still a thing?) You get the Sapphire Green Card and you only wait a year and someone takes the test for you.

Remember the seven SNL Digital Shorts with Laser Cats? OK, you take those and put the title characters into the uncut film version of the musical Cats and you get butthole lazers.

Weren't the Butthole Lazers a punk band from Texas?

Found an issue of The New Yorker from 2008 and I don’t know if I meant to keep it or if it just avoided me when I got into a recycling mood

rough (like uff in buff) cough (like off in scoff) drought (like ow in cow) though (like o in no) thought (like aw in saw) through (like oo in woo) Enough.

Someone remind me there’s Premier League to be watched today

"But I will give you a message. The message of death!" Oh never change Hawk the Slayer

I don't know if it's true, but one of those 10 Things You Didn't Know lists says that the only President to ever be inside Fort Knox was FDR. That might be the impetus for Trump's visit. He'd be one up on all the Presidents after FDR and also part of an answer to a trivia question.

Re: Data doesn't lie. Are people still reading How to Lie with Statistics? It's over 70 years old, but it was one of those things people used to read when I was in high school. All the nerds looked on it as some sort of secret knowledge that the regular people didn't know about.

Maybe Trump thinks Fort Knox is like Scrooge McDuck’s vault and wants to take a row boat around the pile of golden coins

So some random person on twitter tells the Muskellunge that they haven't audited the contents of Fort Knox in 50 years and instead of, you know, checking with government sources, he takes them at their word and we now have to sit through weeks worth of Trump talking about opening up Fort Knox.

The temperature is up 60F degrees from last Monday. While this does seem much nicer, it's a bit of a surprise for my body which had been expecting it to be cold for a few more weeks. Just when I've convinced myself that it's spring, that's probably when the heavy snow will arrive.

I have Saturn 3 on in the background. There’s a lot of shrieking going on and it has a robot that looks like it was designed to be a costume that hides the head of the actor wearing it

Adding this winter to my weird winter list. Maybe all winters seem weird when you’re in the middle of them. Winter has a bad attitude and often doesn’t play well with others

Dreamt I did poorly on a test and now that I’m awake, I’m still upset

"Waiting for Gorey" is my tribute to Edward Gorey (with a dash of Samuel Beckett) for the Phantasmagorey show at Custom House, Leith in Edinburgh. The show features forty other artists and is open for two more days. www.instagram.com/phantasmagoreyshow/

Someone was asking what movie so good it didn't need a sequel and my first thought was Breaking Away, but now I want to find out what happened to the Cutters and their families.

My favorite parts of any kaiju movie are the Maser cannons. The Wikizilla says the Type 66 Maser Cannons were introduced in this movie. #Svengoolie

How is a Gargantua unbelievable in Japan? I mean if you were in kaiju-less nation like Canada, I could see it, but you'd think the Japanese authorities would be more accepting when someone says a big creature sank their boat. #Svengoolie

MLS on television and the temperature is above freezing. February almost feels like spring

May your celebration of the Edward Gorey Centenary be full of ballet and cats

Watching an ad for some health supplement and they just pulled out the three ring binders to show all their research. You can tell it was aimed at old people because they tried to impress us with three ring binders

Be a shame if some Democratic Senator were to go all Tuberville during this critical transition phase of the administration

Boy, NCIS going to be weird next year when all the recurring characters are fired by DOGE and replaced by new inexperienced characters

I’ve said it before but it’s just a matter of time before the far right discover the Bellamy Salute and use it to justify the salute we now associate with the Nazis

When it comes to terrible, he exceeds expectations and I/we had high expectations. We have to put this fire OUT.

We always hear about knee jerk liberals and their trigger words, but what about knee jerk conservatives who seem to be triggered by any word with “trans” in it. Amazed they haven’t changed it to the Department of Going Places and Moving Things

I mean if you had to pick the one Bond villain Trump most looked like it would have to be Auric Goldfinger

Got email from Peacock and the subject was cutoff to Countdown to Wick. I thought they were bringing back the John Wick movies, but instead it’s the countdown to Wicked. Got me thinking of John Wicked with a green Keanu Reeves in Emerald City

So DOGE brags about saving $8.5 million (which they call billion) and then Trump spends more than that golfing. I know people think we’re living in a computer simulation, but I think we’re living in an episode of The Simpsons

One of those “Just gotta make it to Friday” weeks and then it won’t be so cold

The Archers is trending and I was hoping it was going to be about Powell and Pressburger movies.

Getting a real Isle of Lost Souls vibe out of the current administration right down to the White House of Pain. “What is the law?”
