If you're at all interested in commercial determinants of health #CDoH and health harming industries, then this article from @maizie333.bsky.social and colleagues is a must read.

This is a must see long read for anyone involved in health research in @theguardian.com today. It should have been shocking, unacceptable, and unthinkable at the time. The distrust from studies such as this still remains today. www.theguardian.com/news/2025/fe...

An interesting take on the causes of the regional disparities we face in England

We were at #EvidenceWeek in Parliament this week with @senseaboutsci.bsky.social to present research evidence on effective complaints handling in the NHS to MPs, peers and parliamentary staff. We discussed our latest findings to help them scrutinise government policy in this area.

Our first 2025 publication is out 🔓 We explored whether presenting less attractive 'decoy' options for Covid-19 vaccination appointments increased people's intention to get the vaccine. We found that use of decoys could increase uptake in some people. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Very interesting read! This blog highlights that statistics or anecdotes highlighting policy effectiveness don't really impact on public support for a policy. More powerfully, it is negative anecdotes that are powerful in reducing support for policy.
