I’m really pleased to have helped change the law to boost local jobs 🚜 Next week the law will change allowing JCB’s hydrogen diggers to drive on UK roads, which they were previously banned from doing. Great news for local jobs and investment 📈

Staffordshire’s roads have more dimples than our oatcakes 🕳️ £39m was given to Tory run Staffordshire County Council to fix our potholes, yet the job still isn’t done. Staffordshire County Council will be held accountable for fixing our roads properly, swiftly and long term 👇

This afternoon I opened Burton and South Derbyshire’s brand new Advanced Automotive Training Centre 🏎️ It was great to meet some of the local automotive businesses from the constituency and chat with some of the students studying at the new centre 👇

I am pleased to share that Gordon Street Surgery will return to its original location 🩺 The surgery moved last year, impacting 10,000 people, many relying on having the surgery nearby. It’s my mission to continue improving the healthcare situation in Burton and Uttoxeter 🧑‍⚕️

I’ve been working with Severn Trent on a flooding issue in Branston. The concrete in the overfill system, which was causing the floods, has now been removed ✅ I know how much the flooding has impacted residents for many years, so I’m delighted it has now been resolved.

This morning I joined the Commonwealth Flag Ceremony at Burton Town Hall to celebrate our continued relations with the Commonwealth nations 🇬🇧 Our important relationship continues to stand the test of time as we use our shared values to ensure international peace, security, democracy and equality.

🗣️ It was fantastic to hear @jacobcolliermp.bsky.social speaking out on behalf of brewers across the UK during HM Treasury questions yesterday. ⬇️

Today I had the pleasure of introducing His Majesty The King to some small businesses, charities and breweries from Burton and Uttoxeter 🤝 I was proud to showcase some amazing people who do great work in our community. There are many wonderful organisations here that truly make our towns special.

Flooding in rural parts of my constituency impacts residents and businesses each year. Villages and farmland are often forgotten over high population areas. We are reforming the system that decides where flooding protection funding goes in the future to help rural communities 👇

I was pleased to meet some apprentices from Molson Coors in Burton, Marston’s and Greene King at yesterday's Apprenticeship Showcase. I’m so proud of Burton and Uttoxeter's contribution to brewing and hospitality. We must look after these industries and keep them thriving 🍻

On Tuesday I was pleased to introduce the Public Health Minister to Ollie, a constituent of mine who has been suffering with severe Long Covid since 2021 🤝 I’ve been supporting Ollie and his mum since the election with accessing care and raising awareness on the life changing impact of long covid.

Thank you for joining our drop-in yesterday @jacobcolliermp.bsky.social and for sharing your support for the campaign to raise Statutory Sick Pay! We're delighted to be working with you to ensure all workers in Burton and Uttoxeter and beyond have access to decent sick pay 👏

To kick off National Apprenticeship Week I spent the morning at The JCB Academy in Rocester 👇 After a tour around their top class facilities, it’s easy to see how the academy nurtures so many high quality business leaders and engineers, ready for the world of work.

The people of Palestine should have autonomy over their future and the freedom to choose what happens to Gaza. The recent ceasefire deal should not be seen as an opportunity to create a ‘Riviera of the Middle East’ 👇

As one of the largest HGV operators in the UK and the UK’s largest freight airline, the DHL Stretton site is absolutely key to the UK wide network and creates hundreds of jobs for local people. What a great asset to our town and region 📦

I spent this morning at DHL’s Tradeteam site in Stretton. It was great to see the supply chain side of the business, and hear more about their work across other industries including our local breweries and pubs, distributing for the hospitality industry across the UK 🍺

More evidence of the need to properly regulate social media, to tackle disinformation and to ensure those who deliberately or recklessly distribute deep fake content online are held to account. www.thetimes.com/uk/law/artic...

After my surgery this morning, it was great to be out speaking to residents in Uttoxeter 💬 I’ve been updating people on my work as the local MP and work of the @teamlabouruk.bsky.social Government. If you need my support with an issue then please get in touch on [email protected]

It was great to welcome the Roads Minister to the Midlands today on National Pothole Day 🕳️ We discussed important local issues including: ✅ Potholes ✅ Roadwork chaos ✅ Branston Bridge ✅ A50/A500 congestion After JCB showcased their Pothole Pro, we took a drive to see the state of our roads👇

Fans are being ripped off by greedy ticket touts and ticket resale apps 🚯 Labour is taking action with new measures to protect fans: ✅ capping resale prices ✅ stronger fines on resale websites who rip off fans

Just like much of the furore this week, here is an example of a law passed 4 years ago and the Tories did nothing with it. Within months of us being in power we delivered the scheme because we are about actual actions and real outcomes. They talked we walked. www.burytimes.co.uk/news/2484314...

Completely shameless. Her record, and that of the Tories in government, show they have failed to take the action needed on child sexual abuse and exploitation.

📰 Great article from @anneliesemidgleymp.bsky.social The #EmploymentRightsBill is a game-changer for workers’ rights. Let’s fight to defend it and deliver the change working people deserve. ✊ labourlist.org/2025/01/empl...

“I am resolved to finally reverse the decline, fix the NHS and make the health service fit for the future” Too many patients in Burton and Uttoxeter and beyond are languishing on waiting lists, putting their lives on hold. Labour is taking action to fix our NHS 👇 www.thetimes.com/article/f058...

Today the Prime Minister will announce concrete plans to put the NHS on the road to recovery. This is a government for the long term and getting our NHS back to long term health. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

I am shocked and disgusted to learn of this incident that happened in Burton. Everyone has the right to walk our streets in safety and I hope the girl is getting the support she needs. Anyone with information that could be useful should get in contact with the police quoting incident 43 of 1 Jan.

I can confirm it’s not me playing the O2 this evening.

Heavy rainfall has affected many parts of Burton and Uttoxeter over the last few days. I asked the Secretary of State how he will help tackle flooding 👇

Starting off my posting here with a 🎆 and some festive cheer 🎄
