Looking forward to sharing big news in 2025! 🀫 🀞

We brought the whole team to Houston this week for our 2025 Strategy Summit. The team synergy is palpable and we're so excited for everything ahead of us this year 🧠 πŸ›«

We've been selected by @aria-research.bsky.social to develop a network of neural devices designed to monitor and regulate mental and cognitive states without brain surgery. The UK-based program led by @jacquescarolan.bsky.social is contributing Β£69M to unlock the full potential of #neurotech.

We're honored to be selected by @aria-research.bsky.social for a multimillion-dollar award through their Precision Neurotechnologies Program. This funding will accelerate the development of our therapeutic Brain-Computer Interface to treat mood, attention, and sleep disorders πŸ§ πŸš€

Hundreds of Caltech and Caltech/Nasa Jet Propulsion Lab scientists, professors, and students have lost their homes in the LA fires. The Disaster Relief Fund is organized to help. Please share. giving.caltech.edu/areas-to-sup...

Teamed up with some of my favorite scientists to imagine the future of #biohybrid devices that combine engineered tissues with bioelectronics. TLDR (but please R), the future is bright! Out now in Nature Reviews Bioengineering: rdcu.be/d5z6s @jrivnay.bsky.social @jacobrobinson.bsky.social

Just out in @natrevbioeng.bsky.social, check out our perspective on integrating bioelectronics with cell-based synthetic biology. www.nature.com/articles/s44...

I wanted to share my rationale for our recent comment in Nature BME proposing an application-based taxonomy for BCI (unrolled from LinkedIn): Why we should consider labeling BCI based on its intended use. open.substack.com/pub/brainjac...

What do we mean when we say BCI? As neuro technologies mature, it's important for scientists to use cohesive language to talk about them with the public. Here's a nice commentary piece where Jacob Robinson and co. lay out a proposal. Just in time for the holidays πŸ˜‚

What is or isn't a "BCI"? We argue in Nature BME today that if the tech stimulates or records brain activity AND does computation, it's a BCI. www.nature.com/articles/s41... But we still need a way to discuss different types of BCI separately... 🧡 #BCI #BrainComputerInterface

Heading to the icon’s last show tomorrow in Vancouver and feeling E22. IYKYK 🫢 #ErasTourVancouver

πŸš€ We’re hiring! Forest Neurotech is looking for a Software Engineering Lead to build the core systems powering our ultrasound neurotech platform. As a nonprofit FRO, we're advancing science for public good. If you’re excited about neurotech & impact let’s talk. 🌍🧠 forestneurotech.org/jobs

Please share: ARIA is offering Β£500k seed awards for neural interface projects. Apply by 13 Feb 2025. I've been impressed with ARIA's scientific team and overall execution so far. They deserve your best ideas! www.aria.org.uk/scalable-neu...

BCIs list! Still finding folks on here so please message me if you'd like to be added.

Come see the cool stuff the team is up to! BCI is becoming an industry that can address so many disorders:πŸ‘‡

Seriously good stuff from @motifneuro.bsky.social @jacobrobinson.bsky.social and team! As cool as Motor BCIs are, it's Therapeutic BCIs that can have *major* impact for the many millions of people living with mental health disorders. πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

One of the best ways to ensure your science is solid is to ground it to the physical world. Build something that works. Most of #neuroscience isn’t tied to the physical world. The big exception is Brain-Computer Interfaces, and I’m betting the future of neuroscience will advance through #BCI.

Engagement numbers may be lower, but here I see a bunch of interesting thoughts from smart people I like instead of a wall of odd memes from a weird billionaire. That makes me happy.

Here are some folks on the translational side of neurotech! Founders, engineers, translational labs, and investors. Please message me for folks I should add! go.bsky.app/N2LreWi

Good one!! πŸ‘‡

Excited to welcome folks to the new @motifneuro.bsky.social , office, manufacturing, and R&D space at the TMC innovation building in Houston! The team is already hard at work building next-gen therapeutic BCIs... and eating cookies.

Hoping to participate in recreating the magic of neuro-nerd twitter here. Please tag good folks I should follow!! πŸ™πŸ§
