Last November, a republican won a legislature seat in my district. He just pled guilty to two counts of “attempted voter violations” in exchange for not getting convicted of a felony that would have removed him from office. Probation and he keeps the seat. Pretty cool they just let you do that.

I can’t get rid of Nextdoor because sometimes I need to know things like “why is every cop in the city at the park?” (murder!) but it is by far the worst social network, surpassing LinkedIn. There’s somebody in my neighborhood that posts every single spam call she gets.

Yesterday I found out that the HR system at work replaced their document search interface with GPT. I wanted info on leaving and it irritated me so I typed “goddamn it I’m quitting. how do I quit.” and today I found out that real people read the things you type in there.
