My one problem with LoC scans is that they're typically not adjusted, so you get a great working file, but it might be mistaken for the artist's original intention. Look at how much of the highlights are recoverable in this image. What would her print have looked like?

I've never traveled to Texas, but this is gorgeous. An under served perspective in fine art. I think floor mosaic is one of my favourite art forms, ever since I saw the ones at Pompeii and Herculaneum. Meant to be walked upon, yet beautiful and long lasting.

If someone turns twenty-one years old this year, that means from the time they were about five years old, the dominant form of cinema was the Marvel movie. Their entire life, the cultural mode was the Marvel movie. Holy shit, no wonder some at that age don't watch movies at all.

I feel like the Democrats don't seem to understand the value of power? Like, they've gotten so caught up in politics that they forget the reason we have politics is to decide who holds power. There's enough power in the average Senate position to reroute rivers and move mountains.

We're getting into the telephone game territory now lol. What the thinktanks data shows is that unemployment is lowest now, but still very bad overall. Their inflation metric is more unstable, and may not be useful. Overall, the article was misleading, not inherently wrong.

Good thing I wasn't trying to refute it! It's the framing around the election implying that the situation was notably worse, and the lack of context for their own numbers that I take issue with. I wish the data went back before Reagan, so we could see how deregulation and union busting affected it.
