So these companies want to build 20 AI data centers each scaling to 1.2 Gwh - 24 Gwh. Hmm sounds like the rest of us are going to be on rolling blackouts. Poor planning again Gov Abbot and ERCOT.

Locally they published that site will only use 500Mwh but in east coast financial rags they claim that same site will scale to 1.2 Gwh. Now we only had a rather bumpy freeze and ERCOT barely kept up. Texas hasn’t built a new power plant in over 25 years.

Crusoe and Lancium are building ten AI data centers, most are outside Abilene. They claim to be green but their numbers don’t add up. One claims to use just solar and wind, guess it just runs on sunny windy daytimes.
