Worth reiterating that Kusuriya #31 is fantastic. Beautifully structured around structures of power & how those trap people mentally and even physically. 『ラブ・レター』見終わった。ウィリアム・ディターレ監督の1945年作。戦地で友人のラブレターを代筆していた男が内地に戻ると、先に帰国し結婚していた友人は既に故人だった。男は代筆した手紙を受け取っていた友人の未亡人と会うが、彼女は記憶をなくしていて、更に殺人の影が…というラブロマンス。まず手紙というキーアイテムを使った凝ったプロットが面白く、そこに更に戦争のトラウマや記憶喪失といった要素が絡むことで、甘美なラブロマンスの裏に常に緊張感が漂う心理サスペンスでもあり。そんな裏腹な状況を表象するような、おそらく戦禍で壁が崩れ落ちたままの教会での結婚式が特に印象的。
