We have a release date! 🎉

Wood plank sculpt practice in ZBrush

I'm literally five minutes into downloading this and I already love it. You can immediately tell this was made by an artist, for artists.

Need to get back into this project and wrap it up

I'm proud to announce Siegecaster, an active skill-based siege defense game. It will be ready for everyone to check out next month as part of the Steam Next Fest! RTs appreciated! store.steampowered.com/app/3138350/...

I've been working on a master material for a new #Gamedev collab I'm doing & I was inspired by a post by @jakebenbow.bsky.social in which assets were made using Vertex Colour and texture overlays. I wanted some additional control so I added use of various UV channels; 🧵

Every year, I tell myself, This is the year for more personal projects! And every year... well, here we are again. But hey, I did start a blog! (Okay, fine, I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus thanks to some medical stuff, but still --it counts, right? 😂) #ArtStationRecap2024

Got one more project that I wanted to get finished before the end of 2024, but it's still been a good year. Excited to move on to even bigger and better things in 2025! #ArtStationRecap2024

Personal step up: Modifying an open-source tool to fit my needs 💪 I think I finally found a tool for managing visual refs locally. I'll talk about it in depth soon. Excited!! #gamedev

I am thrilled to present Amberspire, a science-fantasy dice city builder. In the glow of a gas giant, roll dice to build a city in harmony with an alien ecology atop the ruins of an abandoned moon. Wishlist here! store.steampowered.com/app/3350750/...

Onto texturing now, hand painting it #gamedev #gameart #b3d #zBrush #indiedev #seaofthieves

Here’s the WIP of my current Unreal 5 scene

I'm really happy with the way this turned out, and how it straddles the line between realism and stylisation. The materials read well but they've still got that sketchiness that I love more renders on Artstation too: www.artstation.com/artwork/1Nwk63

Just wrapped and published my latest project on Artstation 👀

🚨 New art alert Guess who finally posted their work on Concord 👀 Even with all the extremely unfortunate events that happened, I’ll always hold my experience working on the game and with the talented folks at Firewalk fondly 🫶🏾 www.artstation.com/artwork/XJdE0L

If you can believe it, a new issue of Technically Art is here, and it's all with bsky posts =] There's a bunch of insightful and inspiring posts in there, about shaders, VFX, tools, tech art and more ✨ Check it out here: halisavakis.com/technically-... #gamedev #vfx #indiedev #shaders

We have a Sheng! Hit Follow button for awesome!

Another material study from this year, a thick and chunky rockface. This was one of the jumping off points for that underground base environment that I've still yet to finish, which I will *definitely* return to finish before the year is out...

A mortar I designed 6 years ago for a Feudal Japan contest - I wanted to think outside the box when it came to Japanese design tropes and avoid overdone stuff like Katanas and Samurai outfits. Doing that got me 1st place :)

OKokokok I was able to finish one more side project before stalker 2 dropped. This is some #huntShowdown fanart of the New Army pistol! Super fun little project honestly. I've been slacking on more realistic stuff in my portfolio, and always love switching it up. #3D #b3d #gameart #realism

Some more old work, this time based on a concept by Brian Sum from his AFTRMRKT art book.

rock challenge 🪨

Some more old work, a bamboo wall material study from back in the summer.

A procedural approach to hand painted normal cracks in Substance Painter. I just paint in a single mask and then some slope blur and anchor point tricks give me both the light and shadow faces of the crack without having to paint them independently.

Finally moving here fulltime. Here's my last personal project from couple months ago. Gonna post some new *untextured* stuff soon 🫡

phrisk.art/materials It's been 1 full year since I started learning Substance Designer. I'm excited to see what I create in the next year ✍️

I was just talkin about how I havnt done a personal project in a bit BUT HERE LOOK AT US LOOKIE HERE A PEW PEW This is the first gun for the lil indie game my mate n I are working on. It's very much based around junky, scrappy, and shitty stuff. I'm lowkey obsessed. #3d #GameArt #b3d #indieDev

HELLO!! 👋 I must be living under a rock (just like the many I’ve sculpted in ZBrush) because I didn’t know this app existed. So… hi! I’m Daniel. I’m an Environment Artist and I love telling stories. 🎨 www.artstation.com/dctolland #EnvionmentArt #GameArt
