1. They are snowflakes. 2. They are weird.

Really appreciate this UCSD Library collection of Trump Trackers: ucsd.libguides.com/usgov/trumpt...

Rpublicans "do not trust news media" not because it is shoddy, peddles untruths, and regularly misleads people. In fact the news media they consume ALL THE TIME is provenly culpable of these errors (see Dominion vs Fox). They don't trust it because it reflects a world view they don't agree with.

Can someone define traditional role, as defined by these Republican men?

Thoughts and prayers!

This is normal now. Sigh. #Murica #TrumpsAmerica

This is not a joke, right?

Why is it that we always make it a choice of one or the other? The NYT sucks at its headlines and they go out of their way to sanewash and both sides and all that. The institutional journalists are doing the work and the articles do have good stuff, usually hidden. Both are true at the same time. 🤯

This is a good question.

This is good.

Never. Never. America does not need a King. Never.

Framing matters. Words matter.

🚨🚨🚨🚨DOGE is breaking into Social Security records too now www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Imagine if the media pointed out there was already a Government Accountability Office whose job it is to go after actual waste and fraud, not just things Elon doesn’t like, and found $70 Billion in savings last year and $2 Trillion in waste since 2003. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governm...

Nothing to worry about (!)

Here's a list of DOGE staff, assembled and annotated by my colleagues at BI. Whatever you do, please don't share it. www.businessinsider.com/doge-staff-l...

The Democratic Party right now is pretty close to f—ing useless.

We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. —Elie Wiesel <I firmly believe that Dem leadership need to speak up and lead!>

This makes sense to me. The Dems are way too passive and don’t know how to fight - which is what we need from them.

There’s a really serious media credulousness problem happening.

This is the way…

It’s. Already. Against. The Law.

Stop doing bad posts (and get someone who understands social media to work for you) and Start Doing Something. For crying out loud…

This was an excellent explanations of who pays more when it comes to higher tariffs versus lower income tax.

This is insane.

We are in the middle of a coup and I don’t see any Dem leaders beating the drum about it. It’s all about Data in today’s world and unelected President Elon and his DOGE thugs are taking it all over. This is not good. We need someone to step into the void and lead.

Good news - Some senators did something. Bad news- wrong senators.

No one's blaming Democrats for causing this crisis, but yes, many of them are failing to meet this moment. One Democratic senator could bring the chamber to a halt. House Dems can go to fed agencies being gutted by Musk with cameras in tow. Governors can push back. State AGs can bring lawsuits.

Can always count on the Dems to bring a banana to a gun fight.

I will not give in the lies. I will not give in to the fear. I will hold on to the truth…. And hope.

This makes sense… Making Who great again?

analysis by TIME found that nearly two-thirds of the executive actions Trump has issued so far mirror or partially mirror proposals from Project 2025 time.com/7209901/dona...

“Who goes Nazi” from 1941 harpers.org/archive/1941...

Um… me? Also, my father-in-law, who is 80 and a vet.

Elections have consequences. This keeps repeating over and over and over in my head. Sigh.

This thread. Dems do suck at messaging, especially when compared with Republicans / Fox / Trump

The difference between the past - Schumer- and what I hope is the future - McMorrow. She is right - Bipartisanship is not something regular people ask for!

Historian of fascism here. It was a Nazi salute and a very belligerent one too.

“My best guess is that a billionaire, having climbed to incredible heights, realizes that he’s still an ordinary human being who puts his pants on one leg at a time, and asks, “Is this all there is?” So he starts demanding things money can’t buy, like universal admiration.”

Excellent NYT interview with the outgoing U.S. ambassador to Hungary. This is a key insight!

Performative nonsense.
