Nwaneri and Tierney coming on

2-2, Mateta

Saka coming on

53 passes attempted 53 passes completed 1/1 successful tackles 2/2 successful duels 1/1 successful shots 1 big block Jakub Kiwior's first half was blemishless

Arsenal have had some players with quite remarkable first touches. Trossard isn't quite up there with the best of them but I'd have him right at the top of tier two.

2-1, Trossard

1-1, Eze

Such fluidity to Arsenal's positioning in the early exchanges. All three of Rice, Odegaard and Trossard have popped up in central positions, Trossard also drifting into what you've think of as the Odegaard spot with the captain going wide.

1-0, Kiwior

Arsenal XI: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Sterling, Martinelli, Trossard

Evening all

Spurs have already lost two more Premier League games than the relegated West Ham of 2002-03.

Typical of so much of the coverage of the last few days. No one actually speaks about trans or non-binary communities, they just want to have a moan about David Tenant. www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...

A fun way to round off the Easter weekend. A last swing at the play off places for Millwall? They’ll need to do the business against Norwich and get favours from elsewhere.

Will Merino being the latest who takes time to settle in before making a really profound impact later in his first season engender any patience within the Arsenal fanbase for future additions, I wonder? Actually, I don't really. You know how it'll go.

Newcastle haven't made a single change to their starting XI in April. No one other than the starters has played 90 minutes across five games. Obviously it's easy to understand why Howe and Tindall weren't mixing things up. You can, however, tell these starters have played a lot of football lately.

It looks like City haven't really changed things up from last week and it's getting them three shots and a quarter of an xG at Everton. Maybe riding a fading 33 year old who's off in a few weeks is both the best plan they have and not really a great idea.

What would ease Real Madrid’s problems in the Champions League quarterfinal? Another Galactico

Real Madrid attempted 43 crosses from open play last night. The last time they attempted more total crosses in a game was November 2018. Only seven were successful. The first one to create a notable chance (>0.2 xG) came in the 91st minute.

I suppose Arsenal might have run 9.5 more km than Real Madrid -- per UEFA -- because they wanted it more. It might also have been because they had 34% possession and that's what it looks like when you have about half as much of the ball as the other team.

What exactly have Real Madrid shown lately that suggests they can beat Arsenal by a three goal-plus margin tonight? They can't just vibes their way out of this one.

This game is a great argument for Real Madrid parking a Brink's outside Trent Alexander-Arnold's house

Appreciate it's not a "real" half hour mark yet but not half bad for Arsenal to be keeping Madrid to these sorts of spots.

Given the allegations made against Win Butler, there’s something exceedingly gross about Arcade Fire promoting their new album with invitations to join the “circle of trust”.

Arsenal, going as far as Declan Rice can carry them
