The Guardian reported today that a £2.8 million, 18 carat, functioning gold toilet had been stolen from Blenheim Palace in an “audacious Raid”. The toilet, an art installation by Maurizio Cattelan, was (for whatever reason) entitled “AMERICA”. Somehow, The Guardian failed to see the irony in this.
