the american electoral system is basically 500,000 information-resistant people across a handful of states taking a guess and then going "haha! oops!" every two years. this process takes 18 months and costs four trillion dollars every time

The level of tariffs required to cover the deficit and get rid of income tax, as simply not possible. Even if we cut every discretionary program to 0. I doubt we could even if 0’d the Pentagon’s budget. The higher the tariffs the lower the import volume.

Trump is either an idiot or gaslighting. The total value of his tariffs- amount to about 1500% increase. Which would raise $2T- assuming falsely that import levels remain the same. Current income tax receipts are @ 3T. And deficits are $2Tz The math doesn’t work.
