i'm struggling with how to write this post without seeming like i'm capitalizing on trans suffering. but if you're like me, and reading the work of other trans writers makes you feel less alone, i publish a whole quarterly mag for trans writers and artists. it's what i've got. www.beestungmag.com

I have a review of @cdeskilson.bsky.social 's book debut Scream / Queen in this issue. It was an honor to get to spend time with Eskilson's collection and think through it's complicated relationship with horror, queerness, and monstrosity 💛

Compare and contrast

got an acceptance to a journal I love this morning, for an older, very vulnerable poem that I'm excited to share. It's also in couplets, and I feel like I'm not very good in couplets compared to most other contemporary poets, so that's a nice confidence boost as well :)

queerness, as a liberatory politics and not just another vague personal label, must involve thinking, speaking, and acting against ICE, against the police, against the carceral + imperial state and its networks across the globe, against the violence of borders. happy pride!

it really doesn’t matter if someone is in america illegally or not. who cares, grow up

ICE is a criminal organization willfully carrying out illegal orders and the people of California are right to resist this. respect to the fighters and power to the people

wrote my first good, like probably actually really /good/ poem in many months. Throwing my fists up running around the house like a soccer player at the world cup

Twink death? Wrong. Through dark necromancy I will achieve Twink Eternal Life

"Not queer like a rainbow slapped onto a Wells Fargo debit card, gay as in let's hurl a Molotov cocktail thru the window of the bank at nightfall and kiss while we watch the glass shatter like a supernova." —Ally Ang beestungmag.com/issue21/two-...

happy pride month little gay people in my phone!!

rewatched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and cried like a baby

If this is even remotely accurate, Elon Musk and Donald Trump have killed more people in several months than the Iraq war killed in a decade

managed to get a book rejection at 7 AM the morning of a 2nd in a row 12+ hour packing/moving day and *not* crash out. Girl who is going to be Okay (it’s me)

new poem with @ninthletter.bsky.social (:

I finished DMing a 3.5 year, 52 session, ~350 hour-long campaign yesterday, and. ohh the joy and the grief

this bill is going to kill tens if not hundreds of thousands of trans people and I'm not being hyperbolic

Honored to have my poem ‘mirror’ in @anmlymag.bsky.social issue 40. The layout of them poems opens to non-linear reading, giving you the reader multiple ways of reading it. Here is one way, visit anmly.org to hear me read another way. #ActuallyAutistic #Poetry #LoudReading #DisabilityPoetry

(in a bad situation) I'm up poem creek without an em dash

I was very fortunate to write the intro to the poetry section, but in short: this issue’s poems will challenge and illuminate you, I cannot recommend enough to any of my followers that you read these poets’ work

Charles Wright

That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another.

I took a little break from reading as I was burned out but I’ve been returning the last few days and wow Sumita Chakraborty’s Arrow is just absolutely staggering

every gender transition is a statement in favor of human possibility and freedom and i’m tired of hearing it talked about like it’s some kind of disease

“A frail / anxiety layers my outside: a dance between my friends’ / rest. I weep my love through the rent’s end’s mouth.” What a poem. A litany of circuitous images—bizarre, alluring. We can't stop reading it: kenyonreview.org/piece/yellow...

Today my contribution to Verse of April's final Hymn for the Living Poet went up! With homages to @sarahclark.bsky.social @jamesolearypoet.bsky.social and Sommer Browning! Check it out here :) www.verseofapril.com/sterlingeliz...

woah I got a nice message from West Branch about some new poems I sent them ahh

Emily Dickinson (sans transcription errors this time)

thank you to anyone who has read my recent poems, my manuscript has not been doing great out there so it is a nice reminder the work has a home somewhere <3

watched The Lord of the Rings with my friends. crying about Boromir for the 4,000th time of my life

I love all the Easter poems I see on my timeline; here is one of mine, published in @moistpoetryjournal.bsky.social

I have never in my life heard more open discussion about assassinating American politicians. High school teachers, waitresses, pharmacists, bank tellers, bartenders. Everybody’s saying it.

obviously this is only tangentially related to all the Nazi eugenics nonsense but like. do you think RFK Jr could name more than one living poet

I am very grateful to have a sequence of sonnets in the newest issue of @kenyonreview.bsky.social, alongside some personal heroes. Here is the first:
