If you can say one thing in a confirmation hearing and then immediately do the opposite, what was the point? There’s also no point in making elected officials take an oath that is enforced by nothing at all. Like, what are we even doing here?

It’s too late for the US, but other democracies can fix their electoral system easily. You just need to add a follow-up question on the ballot: Could you beat a bear in a fight? Any ballots containing a positive answer gets thrown in the trash. Pretty sure that’ll help.

Okay, this needs to stop. I started writing a story back in 2020 set in a future isolationist America whose back story was Trump had been re-elected and instituted the second American revolution.
