Cats, politics, long walks in the country. Education, social policy. Woke before it was a problem and currently mystified by government’s lack of courage on EU and other policies including foreign policy.

This is excellent.

No-one lost more than £300 a year due to Labour’s changes to Winter Fuel Allowance. Labour’s changes to disability benefit could cost some households *more than £10,000 a year* – and the plans tabled this week do nothing to fix that. It’s no wonder campaigners are raising alarms with MPs.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on. slate.com/technology/2...

When I first saw the headline I assumed it was an error, but on reading the piece I see that no, the Home Office is genuinely suggesting that two children go and live in Brazil without their parents, who are both legal UK residents and employed.

I thought I was losing my mind when this happened because it was an attempted assassination of a national political leader and it was treated like it was nothing.

The lying shits who posted it said “You won’t believe this guys. We’re having a day at Dover and the asylum seekers, it’s crazy. “They’re just all coming in, they are. They’re all just flooding in. Look, all the boats, it’s just asylum seekers everywhere.”

If you're heading to a protest tomorrow, it's important to know your rights. Consult this information from the ACLU. Be peaceful. Be safe. Be careful. Be strong.

As a four-decade veteran of the daily journalism business, let me tell you: Every competent political reporter in this country knows that Trump is trying to establish a dictatorship. The industry's shame is that so few journalists will say so, and the ones who do lose their jobs.

This is the term we must use now, yes.

DHS is also lying about him being repeatedly told to back away. The video shows the men who pushed him don’t even open their mouths, they just grab him and get them out of the room without saying a word.

How many armed #NaziTrumpTroopers does it take to detain & cuff a 52 year old US Senator for the crime of wanting to ask a question❓ 3 apparently but.. they were taking no chances, as backup was inbound Phew imagine if it’d been a 70 year old woman they’d have called the National Guard 🙄🙄🤷🏼‍♂️
