A good afternoon’s printing, funny how often I get orders for out of stock items! Almost at the end of the edition for #hackfall oak and my new #Wren in the hedgerow appears to be popular. Message me if you’d like one of your own of either! #freshoffthepress

I will be at @sunnybankmills on Saturday &Sunday, the 1st & 2nd March, 10.00 to 4.00. There’ll be etchings and cards. Lots of new work including my Leeds aerial view “All change here” and a whole mill’s worth of other printmakers. 4 more information - www.sunnybankmills.co.uk/arts/gallery...

Lie after lie has been told this week about how the Ukraine war started, from the Kremlin and the White House. Here's our News Agents video essay which explains the truth, and spells out why Trump clings so close to Putin and lives in his warped reality. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cufM...

Fruits of today’s pressings. First proof of another woodland print - will soon be running short of names for small woods. Plus Heronry, a real February scene, based on the island in the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Printed my #etching “The good companions”,of the storks nesting @kneppwilding We had a great few days camping there. The birds are part of the @whitestorkproject. The etching is one of my favourites but is not yet a bestseller. Perhaps when storks get as far as Yorkshire, which would be a thrill!

Fresh off the press.. think it’s a while since I printed “Heard it through the grapevine”. It’s always a mystery to me, which etchings will be the most popular - though I now know “More breathing space “, certainly is!

Three spring like etchings to celebrate #Imbolc - or the start of spring! #Heronry #Springwalk and #Drifting

Not quite sure whether this year’s first new etching needs a bit more refining or if it’s done… For once I’ve got a name for it:- “Thicket” or possibly “Thicket near the Brackenwood turning circle“ !

First proof of my “thicket” etching. May be a bit too much of a tangle at the moment. Hoping that a light aquatint might ( literally!) sort the wood from the trees.

The first off the press in 2025- always a relief to get orders done and drying. Murmuration lll and More breathing space.

Happy Skiving 2025….

Feeling very virtuous having printed some of my January orders even though I could have left them to the new year! Two golden oldies “Bracken edge” and “On a roll” which I’ve not printed for over two years!

Last market of the year- tomorrow Thursday the 12th @lidgettlanelarder from 4.00 with calendars, prints and cards. 99 Lidgett Lane LS8 1QR Plus crafts, delectable food gifts and all sorts. Trusting the weather not to be biblical… like last week.

I’ll be at Sunny Bank Mills’ Christmas Market on Sunday December 1st, from 10.00 to 4.00. I’ve done a swap so am there only on Sunday hoping to sell prints for that special person, who may of course be yourself. And if you can’t get there, but want an etching, just contact me janisgoodman@talktalk

#wip copper plate. Spending my day scratching away at the metal plate…and coughing! It will be an etching of edgelands, a little bit of wasteland next to a school field. Collapsed tree reshooting, a kind of thicket.

Love those touches of bright blue.

A lot of what I do and post, is about the progress of my work. “All change here” has been burnished into submission, really pretty pleased with it now! View of Leeds, from the Candletower. Rails, roads, rivers and canals! #etching #yorkshire #freshoffthepress Literally!

The perils of late night app starting is my name was introduced as janid! A quick morning swing round Bluesky structures has corrected this outrage.
