Snow on the edge of a building in my hood. Must be a product of the freeze-melt cycle on the sun-warmed stone.

I don't WANT to preach this morning -- JD Vance is not a serious person, he lacks the intellectual chops to do this kind of work, so rewarding his thirst with response is undignified -- but the Spirit demands at least a brief bit of sermonizing

We hosted a luncheon for 24 after a memorial mass today at this new-to-me Middle Eastern restaurant here in Montreal. I can’t say enough about the delicious food. Highly recommended! mosaic-lounge.com

New visitor in the Old Port today. It was preceded by a small vessel that broke up the ice. The McAsphalt Advantage transports bitumen and oil. Not sure why she’s in this sector of the port which usually houses cruise ships and naval vessels.

Just watched Emilia Perez after first hearing about it via the Golden Globes. I take it that critics are torn, but I thought it was energetic storytelling and an opera for our times.

Started reading this today after noticing her upcoming feature in BBC World Bookclub. Only 1/4 way through and love Rosoff’s voice. #AmReading #BookSky

“Your writing voice is the deepest possible reflection of who you are. The job of your voice is not to seduce or flatter or make well-shaped sentences. In your voice, your readers should be able to hear the contents of your mind, your heart, your soul.” — Meg Rosoff #WritingSky #AcademicSky

Fascinating thread! I saw Renée Fleming with the TSO at Roy Thomson Hall and for whatever acoustical reason, I couldn’t really hear her at all. It’s not a kind room for singers, but still…
