Everyone in the disability community has seen the gif of Trump mocking Kovaleski, ok? Everyone. And we know why it didn’t end his campaign. If you don’t understand, please do more reading. If you show it to me I will swear at you and then block you. It’s what’s gonna happen.

The main beneficiaries of the Department of Education are disabled kids (IDEA) and working-class and poor Americans (Title I, Pell Grants, work assistance), so of course Trump wants to do away with it.

If anyone needs a sample script to say or email their elected officials, something like this. 1. Demand that they sound the alarm 2. Demand that they use every available tool to resist, 3. Fuck bipartisanship cosplay. Hold the line.

Both my kids have relied heavily on special education programs and my wife runs a special education nonprofit, so if you tell me that the Trump assault on special education is just a “distraction” I’m going to block you into the fucking sun.

On birthright citizenship, lots of hot takes here. Mine, it has been simmering near a boil for more than a decade.

It's probably one of the single best pieces I've ever written. rewirenewsgroup.com/2015/08/20/f...

This will never not be funny.

President Carter was a man of deep faith. A Christian who was transparent about his humanity. An evangelical (before that word came to mean what it sadly connotes today) whose faith walk was genuine and inspirational. www.tennessean.com/story/news/r...

FACT: The United States is the only developed country in the world without universal health coverage for all of its citizens - and that's absolutely shameful, especially for the most wealthy nation on the planet. #HealthCareForAll

It's very weird and concerning to see folks on our side of the aisle immediately resort to mocking the physical appearance of women on the right. Jokes about plastic surgery and slut-shaming and sex work and all that. It comes across as weak and childish. It's embarrassing.

Since Wikipedia is in the news, I wrote a piece a few months ago about how, in a sea of disinformation, Wikipedia remains astonishingly accurate: www.forkingpaths.co/p/in-a-sea-o...

Speaking of Superman...

As a historian of medicine, the fact that we are even DISCUSSING a revocation of the polio vaccine? I am struggling to articulate what a dangerous place we are in right now. @disabilitystor1.bsky.social has better words
