Finished going through remaining submissions last night. Sent rejection notices to folks, except for those who used AI to generate their stories.

This was a *complete* surprise to me, but I have two poems on the longlist! If you'd like to read them, you're in luck! **spirit fingers** @thedeadlands.com psychopomp.com/deadlands/is... @uncannymagazine.bsky.social www.uncannymagazine.com/article/the-...

Mags is one of the six writers in #DoctorWho Short Trips: Tales from the Vortex. She has written a gorgeous story about fossilisers, family and fear. Lots of additional info in her behind-the-scenes interview available to purchasers of the collection. magslhalliday.co.uk/2025/03/03/d...

Good morning, folks. In your battle against *gestures broadly*, may the odds be ever in your favor.

It's not doomscrolling, it's just hunting for anxiety truffles

@magslhalliday.bsky.social Congratulations on the Short Trips story!

Finally did a thing…

Word of the day is 'recrudescence' (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.

In a couple of weeks, we will be posting the site launch date and details for some of the ongoing features that will release alongside the flash fiction stories. Here is a little teaser... #Publishing

Been going through submissions for @dreamtheorymedia.bsky.social this week and am blown away by the quality of the stories we've received. Still going through the submissions (which are open until the end of the month). Had to send some rejections but even those were from writers with serious chops.

A reminder - we're open for submissions!

"Help Me Rebound, Rhonda" #HonestSongTitles

Our first #flash #fiction #submission period is now OPEN until the end of February! This is a paid opportunity. See the following link for more details. www.dreamtheory.media/submission-g... Please spread the word. We would love to see your work!

So, I know everything is on fire and insane, but I sold a poem to @dreamtheorymedia.bsky.social , which is a new online mag run by my friend @jaowriter.bsky.social ! It's called "Rhiannon Remembers Her Own Name," and I am excited for you to read it. (Site doesn't go fully live until early summer.)

WATCH OUT INTERACTING WITH BRITISH PEOPLE: IT MAY SEEM SAFE AT FIRST, BUT BEFORE YOU KNOW IT YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF SAYING "RECKON" INSTEAD OF "THINK"

2025 gonna 2025.

This is a new endeavor that I have been working on the past few months. While we are still a few months from launch, we will be opening submissions for flash fiction soon. It does pay. Things are uncertain right now, but we figure that art is important now more than ever.

I need this.

If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me to work on an iMac for them in the past day, I'd have two. Which isn't a lot, but this has never happened before, and it's such a random ask.

I'm a strange amalgam of "Lawful Pantser" and "Chaotic Plotter". Mostly the former (outlines for longer works), but the latter for short stories (notes, but not really writing out of order. That doesn't fit my brain). No idea what the flashlight method is. Not going to look it up.

@miriambo.bsky.social Post vanished faster than me at a social event.

Good morning! Share a comic you feel nostalgic about! 💙 My first ever comic book. I was six. Started a life-long thing.

Depression is a hell of a thing. The further away I move from the major depressive episodes I had for 11+ years, I can look back with some objectivity and sadness at the effects. There's a few years that are spotty memory-wise. Events, things I loved, hobbies I enjoyed... blurry or forgotten. Odd.

Every Steam sale, I need to remind myself: - You were never good at fighting games. Not in the 90's, Xbox 360 era or now. You don't need Tekken 8, bro. - Before you buy that next AC game, ask yourself: do you like the concept more than the execution? - 33% discount? We need to go deeper.
