“The public sector can’t afford high levels of risk tolerance because—and this is a rather unfortunate fact of life—when things go wrong with governance, large numbers of people will die…”

Rep. Jason Crow: “The purge of senior officers at DOD is deeply troubling, but purging JAG officers worries me the most. “JAG officers interpret law for our commanders. They help determine what's lawful and constitutional. “Replacing these military lawyers with Trump loyalists is so dangerous.”

Last night's Pentagon massacre is much more than realized. Not just firing the black CJCS and first woman CNO but all the senior JAG officers and hiring a man who just joined 3 different crypto firms tied to Kushner and Thiel as Chairman. I did a deep dive into it open.substack.com/pub/fpwellma...

"When you run out the reasons to fire the lawyers by a SecDef and President who do not respect the rule of law, it is clear that the intent is to remove barriers from breaking the laws and military regulations."

How many child cancer researchers did they fire to pay for this?

You can’t change history.

“He is formless, almost faceless, a man whose countenance is a caricature, a man whose framework seems cartilaginous, without bones. He is inconsequent and voluble, ill poised and insecure. He is the very prototype of the little man.”

This is as much stupid as I can take for four years…

I’ve never seen a letter from a federal prosecutor like this before.

Posted minutes after the Commander of the ISS said Musk lied about the stranded astronauts in his Fox interview with Trump.

Who knew that it would take Trump to lose the Cold War?

Are we experiencing the Boomers revenge on their parents?

The only place where Western civilization needs rebuilding is on top of MAGA’s ruins.

That would be a good point except: Unlike Trump, other criminals aren’t hell-bent on, and aren’t in a position to, destroy the Constitution and rule of law. I once represented an armed robber on appeal for free. I’d represent a triple ax-murderer before I’d ever consider representing Trump.

The most basic fact about a contract is that you can’t unilaterally rescind it; you can only unilaterally breach it. The Feds signed off on their part of the congestion pricing process. They don’t have unilateral authority to “rescind” anything.

Part of the problem with the current information environment, besides the pollution and toxicity, is Musk and Trump’s death grip on the attention economy. 1:

The crisis

If you restate the question as “why are we hearing the worst stories of federal workers harmed by vindictive authoritarians with a penchant for punishing dissent with harassment and violence via anonymous Reddit posts, press reports, and lawsuit filings” I think the answer gets a bit easier to see

“I think it’s very indicative of why the impoundment power is so dangerous,” said @mattglassman312.bsky.social, a former Capitol Hill staffer who worked for the CRS for years. “It creates a sort of favor-factory atmosphere where you’ve got to beg the president for your funding.” wapo.st/4k2j5yO

Crockett: "It's just that they're idiots. These are the same guys as it relates to our nuclear stockpile, they're like, 'Oh, wait a minute, we needed those guys? Can we get them back? Oh, we don't know how to.' I don't know how anyone can look at this administration & feel a semblance of confidence"

So the Radicals finally snuck into power. Huh…
