After today’s F1 race I needed more in my life so Ford V Ferrari tonight. Not sure why I put this off so long. Really enjoying it but also loving the occasional vintage aviation in the film.

Saw something cool, both inbound for Dulles. They looked like a flight of two from where I was. 1000’ of separation but it looked really cool. Pics never do it justice. Passengers definitely had a great view of each other.

Got out for an early morning flight today. Left the nest and flew KHEF to KHWY to KCJR, then back to KHEF. Goal was a quick, high-paced mini cross-country to sharpen radio work and practice getting in and out of different airports. Other than some haze it was a beautiful morning and a lot of fun.

Log it in the annals of aviation history: Aviator Jason Colón took to the skies and completed 1.2-hours of flight as pilot in command, returning safely to Earth on his first licensed flight. 👨‍✈️ 😂 Kept it in the pattern to work on landings, since the weather had kept me grounded for a while.

Tried to have my first official licensed pilot flight early this morning. Unfortunately plane had a layer of frost with no access to any de-ice. Tried to wait it out but the sun, once above the horizon, only teased out from behind clouds a couple times so had to make the no-go decision due to time.

How it started and how it’s going… My sense of peace from achieving this life long goal is incredible. Without going into the full story being a pilot is what I knew I was meant to be, even if just at the private level. Not completing it 20yrs ago when I was gifted the chance haunts me no longer!
