The idea that the working class identifies more with the Republican Party than the Democrats is damning. It doesn’t matter if through policy you support organized labor and fighting poverty if you don’t break the same bread with a subway worker. What is inclusion if it comes with a dress code?

This November, as the results rolled in, I was floored to see overwhelming support for the Choose How You Move transportation referendum. In 2018, a larger program was defeated 2:1. Not only did we succeed more than 2:1, voters supported the program more than any other race, including president.
