#Connecticut (Greater Hartford area) is my home. I wear many hats and have some very strong opinions- especially about how we should treat one another. Please excuse the typos.

Rachel Maddow is amazing — but she sure knows how to drag out a story. She’s been promising/teasing Jamie Raskin “up next” for 1/2 hour now. Ugh

www.reuters.com/world/us/dog... Vera won this round of DOGE vs humanity.

Any politician who could help stop the deportations that bypass due process but remains silent or supports them will someday have to answer in the future equivalent of the Nuremberg trials.

Zero respect for people who voted for him in 2024 because he’s “such a good businessman.” Maybe they could have honestly slept through 2016, but after all that’s been discovered since… come on!

I can’t imagine the current president passing a single exam at Wharton. And it must have been horrible to be given him as a partner for any group projects.

New Yorkers knew years ago. I knew he was horrible the first and only time I watched an episode of the apprentice. I still don’t understand how so many people bought into the scam. Still waiting for the nightmare to end.

Did we make it clear he doesn’t have a mandate? #handsoff

Someone on X says we’re all paid actors. 😂 #handsoff

Dear media, It’s not: “President Trump Discusses Possible Third Term.” It’s: “Kleptocratic Wannabe Dictator Says He Can Serve ‘Third Term’ In Blatant Disregard Of The Constitution He ‘Swore’ An Oath To Defend.” You’re welcome.

I’m tired of the bad news. Can we skip to the part where the good guys start winning again? I never liked the scenes where Scar had the throne.

I’ve see a few accounts say “told you so, I didn’t vote for him..I’m out.” That’s very reckless. I never once considered voting for him & I’ve always happily voted for his opponents. Cut the crap and stay in the game. This is an all hands on deck moment. The planet is at stake. Don’t give up now.

1/A measles vaccine story: At my annual physical today, I asked my doctor if I needed a vaccine because when I was a child, the vaccines were different and me me might not still be effective. She 1st said I should get a booster but then remembered I take a medication that lowers my immunity.

“When nazis entered a community, they were aggressive&offensive, they redpilled the few people who had been a little nazi-curious, &everyone else left. Then there was no debate, no exchange of ideas at all-just 1 idea pinging around in a pinball machine& that idea was fascism.”Black Pill, Elle Reeve

It would be interesting to know the Signal settings for that group. Was there a single admin who had to approve new people or was it open to anyone with the link? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the latter. Extreme amateur hour.

Went to an Indivisible protest in town today. Lots of drivers honked their support. One guy stopped and tried to bait us by asking if we support abortion. I wish I had been quick enough to have said “only in the case of your mother.”

A long time ago I made a deal w the US government: I’d pay my social security tax during my working career &in return, I’d get monthly checks when I retire & start collecting. Now that I’m approaching 60, the Trump team wants to renege? No surprise w Trump’s history of not paying his debts.

I used to say “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.” That philosophy didn’t work. I can’t sit silent anymore. I watched Lutnick’s comments about social security - he’s dangerous and a jerk. #TaxTheRich #NoBillionaires #GetBigMoneyOutOfPolitics

MAGA thinks we don’t like any of Trump’s policies because we don’t like Trump. Nope- we’re not a cult and they don’t understand causality. We don’t like Trump because we are violently sickened by his policies.

I always felt we were on track for the US to form a “more perfect union.” Was it ever perfect?— not by a long shot, but we acknowledged that we were working toward that goal. I don’t recognize the hellish road we’re on now.

Thread: A thread about the "Bukele Model" of homicide reduction in El Salvador Recently, the nominee for Attorney General of the United States had this to say about President Bukele's brutal prisons in El Salvador Let's address this cause celebre on the right 1/

Hear me out. Maybe instead of running the government like a business, more businesses should function like the government. People over profits.

Trump burned the rulebook. Democrats (I can think of 10) need to start acting like our very existence is on the line and stop playing “nice.” Enough.

I’m an American Jew. I’m absolutely horrified by, and completely opposed to, Mahmoud Khalil’s illegal detention for no crime. I demand his immediate release. #notinourname

Happy to see that my Senators (Murphy and Blumenthal) will be voting no on the spending bill. I left a message on Senator Schumer’s voicemail urging him to change his position and also vote no. This is not a time to play by the old “business as usual” rules. Vote NO!!!

Call these Senators—tell them to vote no: All begin (202) 224 then the 4 digits ⬇️ Cortez Masto 3542 Duckworth 2854 Durbin 2152 Fetterman (is a yes) 4254 Gillibrand 4451 Hassan 3324 King 5344 Klobuchar 3244 Peters 6221 Rosen 6244 Schatz 3934 Schumer (is a yes) 6542 Shaheen 2841 Share far and wide!

I’m old enough to remember when we had a government that pretended to work for us and have our best interest at heart.

Treason Bribery High Crimes & Misdemeanors I thought we might see one— but it sure feels like Trump is taunting us with all three.

Stating the obvious: Trump doesn’t care about those of us who didn’t vote for him. And he also doesn’t care about those who did. He’s not facing consequences for his crimes — and his actions would suggest he’s trying to guarantee he never will.

I understand Trump doesn’t care about rules. But.. he’s a bigger fool than I expected - handing Musk the keys to national security— how will Trump “fire” Musk without the risk of having security turned off? (We know how he loves to eventually fire people)

Rubio knows. He’s the kind of guy who will write a book when this administration is out saying how awful it was. We know, Marco, we know. Find your spine now.

1/When I worked for an insurance company, there was a young “leader” who made his mark by laying off massive amounts of people and claiming large cost savings. Here’s the thing- the shit inevitably hit the fan, but he was already on the the next area and claimed the people left behind couldn’t

Donald Trump targeted AP and legacy media did nothing. Donald Trump has now targeted two large law firms and Big Law is silent. You all read Martin Niemöller's poem “First They Came.” So, I ask you -- What are you doing?
