Three All NBA guys with a torn Achilles in one playoffs. Shorten the fucking season already, this is so dumb.

Made this prediction before game one. If only I put money on it!

I know how much this exchange means to @jasonzinoman.bsky.social. It means a lot to me too, but this is one of Jason’s favorite subjects. Also, great interview: www.nytimes.com/2025/06/20/b...

A couple things left on the cutting room floor. 1) LC says a second turning pt in Seinfeld was when Julia L Dreyfus told Larry David and Seinfeld she was being underutilized. They responded by giving her George stories. "That was the beginning of the explosion of the Elaine character."

Celebrating the birthday of Olympia Dukakis, who, no matter how good you think she is in Moonstruck, is better, and who, in Christopher Durang's The Marriage of Bette and Boo, gave one of the funniest performances I've yet seen in my life.

This was the Rivoli in NYC. 50 years ago this AM I was in a car with the nervous director of “Jaws” and Albert Brooks heading over there. The director wondered whether there’d be a line. There was. It went around the corner and far beyond. He really hadn’t known this could happen. What a day!

He worked with Arsenio, Jay, Andy, Mel, Jerry, Julia, Larry, Sacha, Nic, Bob. Larry Charles's memoir has good stories about all of them. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/20/b...

nifty finish by Tyrese Haliburton

Fascinating essay/profile, about origins of television, art under political threat, the way the culture processes Jewish mothers and why we all know Lucy, but not Gertrude Berg.

You know that moment in science fiction where the hero realizes everything they thought was true isn't. I felt that watching this. I'm half-serious. Which is also the tone here. And of the subject. And the way we live now.

Am I the only one alive who just thought: Oh fuck, game two is during the Tony’s.

This @jasonzinoman.bsky.social article about three different Romeros trying to extend George's legacy is filled with details that are equal parts sad, strange and sweet. A good read. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/05/m...

1) A Serious Man 2) Fargo 3) Barton Fink 4) No Country for Old Men 5) Inside Llewelyn Davis

“The cruelest thing a critic does is make you think about it. But the best thing a critic does is make you think about it.” Dave Chappelle, rare on video interview. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz2K...

Michael with the Memorial Day gift!

"Man walks into a bar" Perfect lede for this @poniewozik.bsky.social gem. RIP. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/20/a...

Great commentary here, but SIR that was *Emmy Award-winning* actor Lamorne Morris!
