This is also why using generative AI for the writing process only weakens the process & the writer. As has been said numerous times & in numerous iteration on this site, the process is a big part of the point of writing. Without the process, what we get is soulless slop.

I wanna run through the server room of whoever’s sending out those fake toll company texts with a giant magnet

The part of George Orwell’s 1984 that everyone forgets is how the music and publishing industries have been replaced by a machine that spits out songs and bad novels “without any human intervention.” The goal is to keep you from ever having to think.

The worst thing about being an ingredients household is getting a really strong craving for stir-fried noodles at 6pm and realizing that if you want to do anything about it you have to make them yourself Or maybe that’s just me

Crockett: "If feels as if y'all have just decided that y'all are gonna castrate your constitutional duty & hand it over to someone who was unelected. It doesn't matter how many cheerleaders he had on the field campaigning for him. That doesn't mean he gets to go in and sit atop any of our agencies"

As the transgender community continues to fight for civil rights in the U.S., one of the most common arguments against progress is that transgender people are a recent phenomenon. But it’s a fight that’s been happening here for decades and around the world for centuries. ⤵️

And yet, somehow, I have not ceased to exist

#TransRightsAreHumanRights. They always will be. You meet me anywhere and I will always address you by your correct pronouns and respect your gender identity. I, and many others, always will. No fascist’s policy will ever change that.

if you want artists to make weirder art, you have to create stable living conditions that allow them to. homogeneity isn't a matter of artists lacking culture-- there are many soulful artists out there-- it's a matter of unregulated corporate dominance combined with artists who cant afford to create

Congrats to the U.S. Capitol, which today celebrated 4 years without a feces-smearing incident. We look forward to someday having that kind of track record, and we might if Dennis ever gets his meds straightened out or just starts shooting up again. Thank you for enduring arbys.

Checking my USPS informed delivery while living in an apartment complex like “I wonder whose mail I’m getting today”

Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie because of the setting. It's a Christmas movie because it has The Christmas Plot: A man who is neglecting his family to focus on work learns What Really Matters through an improbable crisis around the holidays and rededicates himself to his wife and kids

People feared the computer glitch would mean "the end of the world as we know it." Thankfully, Y2K didn't live up to the hype after years and billions of dollars were spent on painstaking preparation.

One piece of marriage logistics they never talk about is combining two households’ worth of Plastic Bags of Bags

So much holiday traffic… even the bison are stuck in a jam! ;)

Notre Dame looks astonishing.

First time hearing the McRib holiday jingle ad on Spotify: Oh, that’s cute, I guess they didn’t retire it after all Third time hearing the ad in a row: I will never purchase a McRib, and I forbid my descendants from doing so for fifteen generations. None in my house will speak its name

Reading about the failed Kroger-Albertson’s merger is like getting the tea on a far-from-amicably divorcing couple

honest abe understood the power of a statement piece

Not sure if manuscript revisions are helping me procrastinate wedding planning, or wedding planning is helping me procrastinate revisions. Either way I’ve never been less productive.

ELITCH GARDENS ADDED BLUCIFER TO THEIR LIGHT DISPLAY

Murder Ballads are older than the United States! A bunch of them, like Knoxville Girl, are actually localizations of British songs. And they exist all over the globe, including the Mexican narcocorrido. This is going to be an incredibly nerdy thread about songs where people kill people. Fun, right?

Okay, the France24 feed is live now. They are doing interviews and showing people arrive: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSRE... #NotreDame #MedievalSky

YOU FOOLS. YOU LET MOOSE.

Around 1800 BCE, a businesswoman named Taram-Kubi received 20 shekels of fine gold, presumably as payment for textiles she wove. She lived in Assur, capital of the Assyrian empire, and sent her textiles to far-flung Anatolia for her husband to sell them cdli.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/artifacts/28...

@treyweller.bsky.social and I are checking out Six Flags Over Texas for the first time in a few years. They’ve re-themed Runaway Mountain with a synchronized light show for the holiday season

Two days after Thanksgiving and I have already ascended to Whamhalla

Wow. Here is one to brighten up your morning. The first images of the restored interior of Notre Dame cathedral. Breathtaking. In just five years France did it

Happy to find one of my faves @ethanmaldridge.bsky.social on here... who did this incredible set of sketch notes for A Master of Djinn--with Fatma, Siti, and even a certain snobbish half-djinn librarian. Got the suits perfectly! 🙌🏿

Ernest Hemingway and Tallulah Bankhead give off the same energy and no I will not elaborate

Dear Walt Disney Company, It has come to my attention that you ignored my past correspondence in which I requested the Moana sequel be called “Moana 2: Mo’ Ana, Mo’ Problems.” Over the course of the next twelve pages, I will explain how this is leaving money on the table, and I believe—
