Exempt people can legally have zero taxes withheld. Other people can update their W4 to minimize withholding. Theoretically if you owe you pay when you file.

Anyone who has lived through this in tech industries can vouch for this. Minimally years lost. My company once laid off the only resource who did the modeling for critical safety kit with major operational impacts. All models ended up having to be rebuilt over several years and huge value lost.

My comments to a few friends post-election was the new axis would be US/Russia. Unlike WWII, what allied group could stop these 2? (the combo it took to stop the Nazis in WWII). Only China has enough power and they wouldn't bother. If China is roped in that's the global stage for our lifetimes.
