Happy release day to a wonderful book and an even more wonderful author!

It's my birthday, and if I could wish for one thing, it would be what we're all wishing for. If I could wish for two things, it would be for you to order my new book. Get 25% off from Tertulia with code: MULTITUDES https://bit.ly/3Y8lpuU

Just finished a great interview with the @elegantliterature.bsky.social Loud Music & Dark Places contest winner Sam Colleran. It was an honor to get to judge and select the winner. I hope you’ll read his story of friendship, grief and the power of music “The Crossroads” in issue 41

"Old" books are often casualties of new books. With my debut novel coming out this fall, limited bandwidth almost forces me to forget I've ever published anything else, which is sad. Still so proud of the stories in The Inconsolables and Greener Pastures, though. <3

if you are a cis person it costs you nothing to just say today that you see & hear your trans sisters & brothers & others over in the UK today -- and around the world, too, knowing that rulings like today's ripple out in ugly ways.

I wrote a whole novel about this.

Does this new idea have novel legs? Hahahahaha who cares because I’m going to dive in anyway. Or wander off. There is no in between.

Hey, friends. Still struggling money-wise over here. In addition to my GoFundMe, you can also order paperbacks and ebooks directly from my website shop. I need to pay some bills (which are coming due soon). Any help you can give is appreciated. 🖤 Links in the 🧵 below.

Wow, did I need something to get excited about!

Go get it! All the mouthparts command you!

Just finished listening to this incredible convo. I know I’m not the only one living in a liminal space right now. I constantly ask myself why I even hope. It’s exhausting. This came at the right time for me. Coup de Grâce is forever timely, raw, honest & full of beauty in the brutal dark.

Absolutely LOVE this beautiful pendant handmade by the multi talented @emilyrverona.bsky.social! Look at the tiny SLEEP ALONE in there! Thank you so much for this delightful surprise, my friend 🖤

It's more important than ever for art to come from the heart of being pissed off 💖

I don't see it being reported much, but just know that The SAVE Act would also make it impossible for the vast majority of trans people in this country to vote. If voting requires a birth certificate or passport with one's legal name (not their birth name), most trans folks can't vote.

CALL YOUR REPS

At this point I need an actual Democrat to primary @gluesenkampperez.house.gov, who campaigned by kissing up to cops and just voted to disenfranchise millions of women voters who put her in office. (The so-called “SAVE” Act, natch.) Disappointed doesn’t even BEGIN to cover it.

Pod People, are you ready to go underground with us? Maybe play the Elevator Game? In this Horror in the Margins episode, @imtherealcatlady.bsky.social and I speak with the incredible @sofiaajram.bsky.social about his Bram Stoker-nominated novella Coup de Grâce. We discuss Greek mythology...
