Something that’s been on my mind as of late is that Pokemon feels long overdue to expand its multiplayer options. PvP is too centered on optimization and I would like something that allows a variety of Pokemon, even the ones with the shit stats, to have a purpose.

i think the biggest fundamental Thing turn-based rpg devs can do to improve their combat is to consider turn economy. there's a lot deeper nuance you could take into this, but on the surface level, everyone who's played an older game has felt this: why use poison when the battle is over next turn?
