One of the end bits of my comic workshops is I tell kids that: if you want to make comics you have to read comics. And I show them this picture. This is ~1320 graphic novels and trades. The first was Anne Nocenti & John Bolton’s Someplace Strange which I bought in 1988. Of those here: 11 are unread.

My rough math has Alex Kumar being near 90 by the end of book 9 of The Expanse. The entire series take place between 45-50 years beginning to end I figure, and he was around 40 at the start of the series. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Drive is a rich sci-fi story set in a politically and technologically complex universe. Dave manages to weave humor and joy into the tense, sometimes terrifying drama. It’s sci-fi at its most intriguing and delightful. Recommend for fans of Star Trek, Hitchhiker’s, and the like.
