when I took a painting class, my prof was always asking me to paint what I see, asking me to "see" more in the still lifes he set up, but I kept disappointing him by painting really basic things with no detail I HAVE BAD VISION, THE STILL LIFES WERE 15 FT AWAY, I LITERALLY COULD ONLY SEE SHAPES
