Tim Bale’s posts are always interesting. But, for me, one of the most telling aspects of this post is the date - almost equidistant between the end of WW2 and today 👇

Lovely to join fantastic Jodie Gosling MP and #TeamNuneaton on the #LabourDoorstep earlier today Lots of support for May’s County Council Candidates It’s called Sunny Nunny for a reason ☀️

Pleased Council responded to campaign - by Whoberley Hall Primary, Ward Councillors Bally, Pervez, myself, and MP Taiwo Owatemi - and is to introduce 20mph speed limit on Overdale Road and Deer Park Close Next, we need safety measures on Wildcroft Road 👇: www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventr...

Maurice Edelman was elected Labour MP for Coventry N in 1945 & represented Coventry W & NW until his death in 1976. Geoffrey Robinson won the 1976 by-election and held Coventry NW until his retirement in 2019, resulting in the area having had only two different MPs in 74 years.

#FullCouncil is beginning in Coventry. Today we have our youngest recipient so far of the Good Citizen Award in law student, carer, volunteer and champion of young carers, Sharandeep #LoveCov

I LOVE snowdrops. These are right by our house and supply spring and general happiness vibes 😍

Brilliant news from West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner Simon Foster Thank you Simon Foster for prioritising speed on the roads at a time when police budgets are still challenged, as we begin to move away from Tory #Austerity www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Brilliant evening with .@matt1nnes at #SnowPatrol in #Birmingham Musically fabulous - and the staging absolutely gorgeous #JustSayYes

Great to work with Allesley Hall Primary School, Taiwo Owatemi MP, my Whoberley Ward Councillor Colleagues Bally Singh & Pervez Akhtar, and Coventry Police, on road safety measures outside the school Some fantastic road safety suggestions from the children 👏 #TeamWhoberley #LoveCov

Just back from a fab short break in beautiful Edinburgh with Matt. I think it must be 20 years since I last properly visited Edinburgh Castle - and I still prefer the Honours to the bling in London !

Interesting analysis from The Observer’s ever excellent Andrew Rawnsley on the challenges facing the economy, and on Chancellor Rachel Reeves www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Good to meet with local police and residents at yesterday’s PACT (partnerships and communities together) meeting at Allesley Park Library The police intend to make this a regular meeting, visiting venues around Whoberley Ward #TeamWhoberley #LoveCov

Less time between meetings today, but managed a Lunchtime Stroll with Matt at beautiful Allesley Park It’s a special place for me - not least for the amount of fun we had playing here with our sons when they were little #LoveCov

Kenilworth Castle was a regular visit while the boys were growing up. Today we rejoined English Heritage for the first time in a while and headed to the Castle. A beautiful and bracing lunchtime stroll (no snowdrops, but I won’t be surprised if it snows) #EnglishHeritage

A couple of lunchtime strolls spent Snowdrop Spotting with Matt at Warwickshire’s National Trust properties Both Charlecote Park and St Michael’s Church at Baddesley Clinton have snowdrops in flower

Coventry City Council’s Full Council is just beginning You can watch live online via coventry.gov.uk

Nice Sunday stroll around Kenilworth Park with Matt just now. Spotted the very first snowdrops beginning to appear outside St Nicholas Church :

There’s something magical about a deep frost. National Trust’s Packwood is always beautiful - but today, with frost under foot and encasing branches, it was stunning 😍 Brilliant crunchy walk with Matt ❄️ #NationalTrust

Everyone needs a pharmacy from time to time. More so when we are older, have a young family, or are struggling with our health. Coventry and Warwickshire’s Public Health Teams are consulting on pharmacy services locally. Please do have your say ! #LoveCov #NHS 🩵

First Lunchtime Stroll of 2025 earlier today. It was wanting to snow at one point - hence the woolly hats ! National Trust’s Baddesley Clinton is always beautiful - and it’s always great to make friends with another robin

Midnight tonight is when registration for your Christmas Tree closes Why not do it now…? #TwelfthNight #PassTheSmile #Myton

Really pleased to have achieved Bronze as a blood donor yesterday Please do give blood, if you can #NHS #BloodDonation

Last year Team Innes counted in the New Year at Edinburgh’s Official Hogmanay with all time favourite band #Pulp headlining This year is errr quieter. Happy 2025 to you and yours #HappyNewYear2025

Nice walk with Matt and Greg at National Trust’s Packwood today Blew away some cobwebs (and my hair!)

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas But if you’re really struggling Samaritans are just a phone call away ☎️ 116 124

Was fortunate to see Bally Gill in Twelfth Night on Saturday - just superb President Kennedy School is right to be super proud of him - and I look forward to seeing more young Coventrians succeed : #lovecov

So last night the 5 of us (Joe’s girlfriend Katie very much in the gang) went to see Twelfth Night at the RSC in Stratford Superb. And Samuel West‘s Santa Hat will stay with me for some time… Under 26s can book TikTok Tickets for £10 - thank you RSC

Real pleasure to join the lovely Leaders and Congregation at #MarpeChurch earlier today to see the #HearsallStar return for Christmas 2024 Thank you to everyone at the Church, and from the former Hearsall Baptist Church who made this possible : #TeamWhoberley 🌟 #lovecov

Human League + Sophie Ellis Bexter were brilliant in Brum last night Murder On The Dance Floor, Don’t You Want Me and Electric Dream - that’s a proper night out ! I’m thinking technology has begun to catch up with Phil Oakey’s imagination - staging was superb !

Ward Colleague Cllr Pervez Akhtar speaking up for bus users in the Chamber at Coventry’s Full Council right now :

Can’t help thinking middle class middle aged women are a sizeable segment of MasterChef’s audience.

Free bus journeys! From 7pm on 9th to 13th December, you can hop on any West Midlands bus for free. It will make it easier to enjoy the season all while showing how great our bus network can be. The only place you can do it is the West Midlands! tfwm.org.uk/freebustravel

Welcome to Coventry North West Young Labour! We’re on a mission to get in touch with the young people in the constituency & show people a better side of politics! Follow along and join our journey! 🌹

One of the coldest mornings of the year - so what better time to join with Coventry Police on a Speedwatch beside Whoberley Hall Primary School on Wildcroft Road? Council Chief Executive and senior officers are working with Whoberley Ward Councillors on measures to cut speed and improve road safety

It’s tough at the top, as the excellent Andrew Rawnsley points out in today’s Observer column But yes, the government *does* need to up its comms game - it’s time to explain the improvements to NHS, schools and who has more money in their pockets : www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Great to be out in the decidedly fresh (!) sunshine on the #LabourDoorstep this morning Lots of support from lovely Whoberley Ward residents #TeamTai #TeamWhoberley 🌹

Due to the temperatures, Coventry’s SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Protocol) has been activated No-one should be sleeping rough, so please let the team know if you see anyone. They’ll help the rough sleeper to a warm space, meals, showers and bed : thestreetlink.org.uk?utm_medium=s...

Sad news about #JohnPrescott - I’m a lifelong fan As Parliamentary Candidate, I welcomed him to Nuneaton in 2010. We went to Asda, and then hit the bus station - he got mobbed ! John Prescott: Political bruiser who played vital role in Labour comeback www.bbc.com/news/article...
