That was the fastest I've found the purple category in Connections right away; I think it was 2 seconds. Could not call myself an 80s kid if I hadn't. And now my poor family has to listen to me sing while I recall my own choreography to each one from over 40 years ago. 😄

Have the whole theatre to ourselves for the 4PM showing of Mickey 17 it seems. (Yep, still gonna keep our masks on...)

It's never about protecting women.

I love Billie, Nina, Ella & Etta as much as anyone, but Bessie's voice is the one that breaks me down & builds me up like no one else's. Forever thankful my parents bought the double album Empty Bed Blues when they lived in England & brought it back home, prerevolution. youtu.be/kxTyV_cBz7o?...

Day off for all three of us. Doing our annual Lambertville/New Hope fay trip. First stop, Lambertville Station restaurant which is, yes, in the actual old (and very beautiful) Lambertville station.

All boosters scheduled. Based on the tin foil hat theorists, by early April I should be as as glory as Dr. Manhattan.

Just now: Kid walks into living room, sits down. Kid:"It's really nice being home..." Me, interjecting:"Awwww..." Kid:"...I miss the bidet toilet seats." 😶

Talking of musicals. The best yet.

Of course this was next & of course it's intended to target more than gender affirming medication. & won't stop at birth control or abortion health or mental health either. But no worries if you're taking viagra for anything other than actual heart issues, of course. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/05/h...

Intermission for @hadestownmusical.bsky.social The cast is amazing. Merle Dandridge is KILLING it as Persephone. A LOT of people, incl. me, having major feels after Why We Build The Wall. There's a row of mostly Black young men behind us & you could hear the hushed "damn" at the end of each verse.

Fell in love with it when we saw it at the West End. Let's see how Broadway does it. #theater #musical #theatre #theatergoers #hadestown

Last night I ate the most decadent, ambriosa of the gods like cream puff ever. It was in my dream but holy mother of God I could taste every single bite down to the flecks I licked off the corners of my mouth. The human brain is truly a wonderful and terrifying thing.

I cannot believe I was today years old before I found out about Sunny War. youtu.be/0t0mpmAitvA?...

This makes me so mad and so sad and everything in between. www.broadwayworld.com/article/Kolt...

Both the book The Day of The Jackal and the 1973 movie were favorites among my peers growing up. That said, despite the liberties taken with the Jackal's character in the TV series, I'm rather enjoying it.

No more lies between them. (Spring break viewing with the kid. Each night he'll pick what we watch.)

This one may be my favorite.

The entire thread is funny (and sad).with everyone else chiming in with their fave USSR or East Germany or...joke. We had the same back home.

Warming up at the Kimmel Center (he's the trombonist playing) in the Marian Anderson Hall. Always a treat.

S2 Ep7 of Severance was a masterpiece (and, holy shit, Jessica Lee Gagné's debut as a director may be the best debut ever, even taking into account her being a cinematographer to this point). But JFC that episode ABSOLUTELY should have had a trigger warning for infertility & miscarrying.

Halal food truck goal achieved. They give you enough for two meals in general; b/c the kid is one of their regulars & faves, they give us even more, despite our protests (that container is DEEP. I tip the equivalent of two meals to make up for it). This is why we always bring a cooler with us.
