I'm getting deep into deep learning, familiarizing with concepts like harmonic mean, weights, F1-score and so on. It takes some of the "magic" out of it, which I like. My gut tells me this is more fruitful than focusing on practical stuff like vibe coding. What do you think?

State management is hard! Specially when it involves global context shared across different components. If you learn how to nail this problem you'll stand out.

The hardest part is being able to trust myself and act while being critical at the same time. To not let analysis paralysis block me while avoiding being purely reactive in my actions. To be relaxed without being complacent.

As a techie person, I tend to focus on psychological skills as much as technical skills. Like being able to make good decisions, for example. Or being able to learn something fast. Or being able to think laterally about a problem, to solve it in novel ways.

UPDATE: The initial MVP version of JazzJam is only available via Google Play Store for Android devices. So you'll need a Google account and Android device to join. I should have mentioned this more explicitly! I intend to release to other platforms over time. Thanks for your patience!

Do what the AI cannot do, you will stand out.

You know who wins the war? Whoever shares some insight upfront without teasing content just to lock it behind a subscription paywall, which btw I can only see after closing a popup and dismissing the notifications popup.

How do you call the kind of response that only focuses in highlighting what's wrong in a statement, instead of addressing the point? Example: "Very nice day to go out for breakfast!" Response: "No, at this hour it would be brunch..." Is this gaslighting?

Website designers: when your not-signed-in landing page has big fields for registering and you hide the “Sign In” button somewhere in your busy graphics, you’re telling your subscribers that you value them less than people who have not yet subscribed.

Well, I haven't lost the impostor syndrome yet. I keep second guessing everything I say, fearful of expressing opinions, shying away and keeping it low profile. Sometimes I wish I could be completely anonymous.

In response to all the Discourse about the youths growing up toxic, I encourage my fellow champs, chiefs and kings to bring this energy to the table going forward

Once again, I find myself thinking about the camera

I’m mid cleaning this up again after a small technical glitch and close to 2000 signatures from just UK academics! Would be great to get over that line before it’s published…

This is why there is always an org "restructuring" after a CEO change.

Where is the AGI to save me here? 80's tech still more reliable in a moment of crisis

People listening the news at the radio during the power cut in Barcelona. An apparently casual situation which in reality is very unusual.

MCP could be replaced with OpenAPI if we added additional parameters for Agentic use tto the spec. llms.txt is often just sitemap.xml in markdown. We could probably extend sitemap's spec for LLM usage. Agree or disagree? And if you agree, where's the proposal at?

Who would have thought?! TDD (not just unit tests) can be also useful when vibe coding. I would say it's even more relevant when vibe coding. For all its shortcomings, TDD is a powerful technique.

If something I learned about dealing with narcissist people is that if they can reach such positions of power and authority, maybe hierarchy is not something I should take seriously, or revere in the same way I admire genuine talent or intelligence.

Hey #GameDev, this is the 2nd React Jam I'll be participating in as a judge! Since building games with React is basically the best (I make PixiJS React so I might be biased 😅), y'all should deffo check it oooooooooooout. ❤️

I'm conflicted about this. On one hand I think "yes, please, want to hear your take ". On the other hand I feel "oh, please, stop it, I'm tired of Vercel" My personal take: Next is an overblown solution that most of the time you don't need, but you will still use because "the industry" decided so.

Words to live by.

Building your own digital product takes great courage and skill. But in my experience these skills are not properly valued in regular software dev jobs. Specialization is more valued. We are getting a ridiculous situation were creating your own product is easier than finding a job in tech.
