Last night I was in Manchester Museum giving a talk on Queering Ecology as part of the Queer Ecologies takeover, and wow...so wonderful. I felt held, the questions were nourishing, and the atmosphere was warm in the best way. Highlight: talking about bugs as decolonial vessels of guidance in nature.

See some of you later at Manchester Museum to explore and introduce Queering Ecology and see all the other amazing folks for the Wild takeover 🐝🦋🪲

I see this time and again with the "indigenous people will save us" "brown and black folks know all the answers" ok acknowledge the limits that whiteness and imperialism has imposed on itself, but then to dump every issue caused by whiteness and other imperial mechanisms on those oppressed,

Responsibility. Big thing to shoulder. Isn't it? It seems to always be the Responsibility of the black, brown, indigenous, global majority or local minority person to step up, call out or withdraw when a space isn't "diverse" enough.

Very cool getting to bring Queer(ing) Ecology...the unbuilding of our realities...reimagining our relationship with ecology, to so many queer scientists and others at @stemlgbtqyou.bsky.social last week! So excited to speak more about this and for there to be more understandings to be built on...

Later this week I'm heading off to Manchester to introduce "Queering Ecology" as part of the Queer Ecologies takeover, and talk about the threads we must attach to it. To introduce queering, especially in ecology, conservation practice and ecosystem understanding...there needs to be a humbleness.

This week I'll be heading to Manchester as part of the Manchester Museum queer ecologies takeover, to introduce and speak about what queering ecology is, and some of the threads we can attach to it. Tickets and info: www.museum.manchester.ac.uk/event/queer-...

I was interviewed by @boydkodak.bsky.social for The Buzz Magazine...talking about queer ecology, what I'm doing and where I'm going...🪲🐛🤎 heyzine.com/flip-book/BU...

Woke up this morning to read the news of trumps administration taking over the national archives in the US, and last night i spoke briefly about the destruction of trans medical literature in Berlin under the Nazi rule...control and erasure of history changes the reality we have now. I'm so tired.

Humans have three life support systems — our bodies, our infrastructure, and our environment — and Trump and his enablers are attacking all three. They are going to kill us all.

Someone at the conference im on way home from (speaking about queering ecology) said I have a really good recording voice for audio books and if that isn't another universe push for me to write this goddamn book idk what is...

We out here queering ecology and disagreeing with it too 🐌🤎🐛 #conference #queer #ecology

Off to talk about Queering ecologies and reimagining our relationship with ecology and nature...bugs. there will be bugs. @stemlgbtqyou.bsky.social

Introducing Jasmine Isa Qureshi, who will be speaking on “Queering Ecology: Reimagining our Relationship with Ecology”. Looking forward to their interdisciplinary talk! #ostem #lgbtqhistorymonth #lgbtqstem

Heading to Birmingham tomorrow for this! Excited to speak more on how "queering" can be a necessary mechanism of the reimagination of our relationships and interactions with ecology and nature, especially through a queer theoretical, critical and decolonial lens...

So we just ignore it when people are the "first" minorities to be celebrated in white owned, colonised + patriarchal spaces, and to do that they've bent over backwards to conform to the oppressive system: supports israel, never mentions or speaks about upper caste Indian privelege, etc. #MindyKaling

Another email has referred to me as Dr and I'm really flattered but you guys are putting a lot of pressure on someone who JUST started their PhD 😭 I'm sure I'll finish it someday (or not if institutional science is dismantled before then which would be more of a win anyway)

My camera roll atm bc when you ask me to talk about my favourite bees, and the COLOURS AND THE DIVERSITY OF BEHAVIOUR THAT EXISTS I don't hold back 😍🙏🏽 this is only a chunk, I haven't even started on the parasitic wasps, flat topped millipedes, flies and woodlice...our world is a soup of difference

What did you get for your bday? Oh me? ....You know....bugs. And more bugs.
