If you think that a Black Queer woman cannot bear the image of God, then you missed the entire plot of the incarnation. Go back to the beginning and start over.

Book Club is cool because a bunch of us sit around the bar and save each others’ lives twice a month. Cool is kind of an understatement, really.

Has anyone made an “ICE Raid protocol” for your church yet? I’m going to broach this subject with my priest, and I’m wondering what best practices might look like. If a van comes and tries to cart off one of my fellow parishioners, I’m liable to act a fool if there’s no plan beforehand.

Episcopalians are wild because they're a christian denomination that somehow seems to not have total contempt for the teachings of Christ

The London drizzle is the perfect weather for the last day is the Republic.

One of my favorite things about sketching in public places is the genuine surprise in people’s voices when you answer the “what are you doing?” question. “Painting” has fallen out of the mental menu of public activities and it’s fun to expand people’s horizons a bit.

Ok. Y’all have had enough time with Wicked to learn to love Stephen Schwartz music. Now check out Children of Eden and prepare for serious emotional wreckage.

I did what I’ve been putting off for 3 years, and started a conversation with my dad about my failed marriage. Getting ready to make some progress in 2025.

It’s time for the first test of Weird Anglican Bluesky. Will the L&C live-tweeting be poppin??

Today’s sermon about the “wrath of God”: it feels like God’s anger but it’s really salvation from something deadly got me thinking about my divorce, like….hmmmm… that tracks.

Tis the season to give gifts Ron Desantis would not approve of.

Ah, the time of Professorial Payback is nigh. Now I have to grade all of those rigorous assignments I encouraged my students to put their time and energy into.

There will be a day in December when I don’t work three different jobs. But it was not this day.

I really love working gigs for old friends

I played the Burt Bacharach theme song to The Blob for my kids as part of a Halloween playlist and now I catch them singing it to each other at random moments. I’ve either created quirky cool kids or very very uncool kids.

I want to learn more about the new reliquary. Anybody have a source?

My threads feed: Mayor Pete needs a new gig! My Bluesky feed: Who will they pick as the next ABC?? Now, hear me out, everybody. What if we could solve one problem with another?

To everybody who had to be brave to get through today, I just want to say: You did good.

4 year old has learned how to eat whipped cream from the can (good for him!) so now I have to keep a top-shelf can also.

My annual note of appreciation to the Hallmark Store for being the one brick and mortar who consistently sells Advent candles. 🕯️

Drag shows are my favorites in the theatre. Nobody else offers a hug and a “Thank you, honey” on their way out after a call.

It’s finally not broiling hot in Florida. So I’m going feel cute and wear a scarf for the 2 or 3 hours Fall lasts today!

Pro tip: “We are not going back” is good for life stuff, too. Fall back into a cycle of relationship-based social isolation? Not today, thanks.

As an almost-40 southerner, I’ve had my share of sweet potato whatnots. But tonight was the first night I’ve had sweet potato casserole with crushed pineapple, and let me tell you… revelatory. Genius.

I would very much like to have someone put Cindy Sherman and Chappell Roan in a room together and record the conversation.

Confession time: every time I get a grumpy letter from my HOA, I throw another five pounds of wildflower seeds into the yard.
